Phil RN who wishes to work in Australia
It's close to 23k. Add to that the living expenses every month. Very steep!

Overseas Nurses That Applied for Registration To QNC
I have a friend who applied in NBV whose documents were sent back to her. AHPRA is requiring them to resubmit their credentials with the new application form and the format from the AHPRA website. The only thing waived was the fee she paid before. I'm not sure if the same will happen with those who applied in QNC.

Any Queensland Nurses here?
Hi coffeedreamgirl, I also applied to UQ and I just got my offer a few days ago. I'm still deciding if I'm gonna go for the program since it's too expensive! Let me know if you're gonna push through this path. It'll be nice to know someone if I decide to enrol in this program. Thanks! Best of luck!

I applied through IDP, but I'm sure you can do it on your own. I just received the offer letter for the one year program a couple of days ago. It took them 2 months and 11 days to be exact to assess my documents. =)

Filipino Nurses Who Plan to Study in Australia?
I just talked with my family, and I'm expecting more of these in the coming days. =) When does your study start? Do you have relatives to stay with at Australia? I, unfortunately, don't have any, thus the great deal of discussion. I hope things work out well for both of us. =)

Hi alchemy, You can visit the AHPRA website if you wish to take the bridging pathway. If you wish to take the conversion path, I suggest you look up universities online. I applied to UQ, and I just received their offer 2 days ago. The tuition is expensive, so I'm still undecided about accepting the offer. I have to decide soon though since the slots for the program are limited. *panic mode*

Filipino Nurses Who Plan to Study in Australia?
Hi, I'm still deciding whether to continue on with this or not. I just received my offer from UQ 2 days ago. The tuition is expensive so I still have to sort this through with my family. How about you?

Bridging program in vICTORIA? anyone? did, doing? plans?
@hotpotato, I still can't send pm so I'll just answer your question here. It's the Bachelor of Nursing for International Students - Overseas Educated Professional Nurses 1 Year Program. It's not listed in their website. I just found out about it through one of UQ's representatives when I asked a query if they have this program. You can email them and ask for more questions about this conversion.=)

Thanks for your inputs, cioman! I'm considering the bridging program since it's more economical and less time consuming. However, with the national registration in effect, I'm presuming the processing time for the board to review one's credentials will take longer as well. Would you know how long it takes on average for the then-independent state boards to grant eligibility? I'm a second courser, so I'm kinda rushing things. I wish to go to Oz by the beginning of next year, be it by conversion (just awaiting for offers) or BP (haven't started any move in this path!). However, conditional offers granted by universities can't be put off for a long time (say, if I start processing my BP and had to wait for the eligibility and then securing a slot for the program) since slots for the conversion also fill up easily. Gosh, I'm really confused! Do you reckon if I start processing my papers now for the BP path I'd be able to get my eligibility within the year?

Bridging program in vICTORIA? anyone? did, doing? plans?
Thank you so much for your inputs, hotpotato! I really appreciate it. I have to think hard over this matter since the money that my parents will be shelling out is no joke. :uhoh21: I actually have a friend who took the conversion path, but she's on the other side of the coast at QLD. She's now at her second semester and seems to be enjoying the Oz life. I'm still waiting for my assessment from University of Queensland, then I'll choose between Curtin and UQ. Do you have any idea which is a better school, thus more edge come job hunting? You're right about time flying by so fast. I'm a second courser so I'm kinda rushing things. I'm so embarrassed to still depend on my parents for support.:uhoh21:

Hi everyone, Is it still advisable to do the conversion program by Curtin with all the economic trouble that WA is experiencing right now? Thanks!

Bridging program in vICTORIA? anyone? did, doing? plans?
Hi hotpotato101, I'm having second thoughts about doing the conversion program as well. I've submitted my application to Curtin and to some other unis that offer the conversion program. However, reading all these posts about doing the bridging program makes me want to change my mind. Have you decided which one you want to take? Thanks!
