I was just reading through the C=RN thread (very interesting!). A lot of people mentioned the grading scale at their school, and I just found out that this semester they changed the grading scale for the nursing classes at my school:
A= 89.5 - 100
B= 79.5 - 89.49
C= 75 - 79.49
Is that insane or what? In a way it's nice, but I think that I won't feel as much of a sense of accomplishment if I do get a low A, because I will know that it's not *really* an A.
But then part of me realizes I should drop the stupid pride and take what I can get, because the next two years are going to be HARD.
A = 93-100%
A- = 91-92%
B+ = 89-90%
B = 85-88%
B- = 83-84%
C+ = 81-82%
C = 77-80% PASSING
That's my school's scale; copied it from their website. Not too easy and not too hard, I suppose. :)

I have to have an 80% to pass. bottom A is a 94 %.
This I wonder, if the BON dictates what our programs are like, then why arent all the grading scales alike.
Many think it is strict, but I feel it makes me study harder to learn to material. passing though the program wont get me a license, passing the NCLEX will.
ours is:a 94-100
b 86-93
c 78-85
even though i am in an adn program, our grading scale is the same as above. if we get a c one semester, we can't get a c the next or we are automatically out. also, if we fail our drug calc tests, scheduled or surprise we are also out. being my first year it makes me way nervous

i live in florida and my school said that if you get kicked out of any nursing program here then you can't go anywhere else ever again in the state of florida. :stone
we have the same policy. if you get one c- or below then all your courses are dropped for the next semester and you have to take that one class, all by it's self, with the group of students who stated a semester behind you (at our school they have both fall and spring entrance). so your entire graduating class changes.my school is insane, anything below 80 is a d and you are out of the program, and their no return policy is 3 years!94-100 a
84-93 b
80-84 c
sometimes people make things harder than they need to be! wish me luck!
