OSCE REVISION for NMC REGISTRATION

Published

I am Wency, a registered nurse in the Philippines. I recently passed the IELTS (8.5, 7,7,7) and the NMC part 1 competency test which is the CBT. Now, I am preparing for the final test which is the OSCE. I am currently in the United Kindom particularly in Lincolnshire, and I would like to ask you guys if you know a training agency in the UK that provides training or preparatory course for OSCE because I am not confident to take it yet for some reasons that the Uk healthcare system is different from the Philippines perhaps they have different approach in providing care to the patients and etc.

Tuition fee for intensive revision for OSCE is not a problem as long as I can enroll for revision.

The rules stated in Royal Marsden are that you only need to do soap handwashing if your hands are visibly soiled so you could state that instead "my hands are not visibly soiled so I am choosing alcohol handwash". They do keep saying do it exactly like you would in practice.

I have failed once too and I'm planning to do one sink handwash in each room.

Hello guys!

anyone who has taken OSCE last month? is there catheterisation? I will be taking OSCE this March.

Thanks

One thing Im not sure about from my first time - When documenting in evaluation under All Drugs Given During Stay- Does anyone know how much information should be here? Is it purely just a list or do I have to state frequency given and dosage as well?

Hi everyone. I'm a US nurse living in the UK (husbands job transferred us). After a year and roughly 500 trees worth of forms, I'm finally scheduled for my OSCE. I've been reading Royal Marsden as well as looking at the practice forms etc provided by Oxford Brookes. Two questions: do we get to use calculators for drug calculation (I'm that girl at work with the mini calc in a pocket) and any advice re the APIE sections? Not knowing what to expect is making me uber crazy. Any other people on here in the Bournemouth area?

Guys important question here!! Do you think it would be a good idea to not do hand washing in Assessment and implemention instead I will just do hand rub to save time and explain that in real scenario I will do hand washing.. I'm looking to speed up my assessment pratice because I already lost 2 mins from checking RR and PR. I had a partial fail in my first take unfortunately due to not enough time.

i did hand wash for the assessmemt and just a hand rub for the implementation.

just a list with dosage.

no calculator. idont think you need one. everythin is basic.

So I'm not calculating any fancy drips? Good to know... Any tips on the APIE? I've been working as an NP in the US and using the medical model for so long that I don't think in terms of nursing dx, and def not anything like the forms that Oxford Brookes have given me.

Cottntale32, I got your PM, but I can't reply as I don't have enough posts ☹️

Haha. I only realized that after! But I sent you an email!! Thank You!!

its basic nursing, so you wont have a drug which you will calculate mg/kg/min hehe
