You should ensure that you have any information (i.e. Vitals) you would need prior to giving any medications. You should always count the compressions out loud when doing two person CPR so that the person manning the BVM knows the correct timing for the two breathes. Also, it allows the team working with/around you to be aware of the number of cpr cycles that have been done.

I used DRSABC (no defibrillation in BLS here, though it was part of my recommendation in my SBAR report) I passed my BLS scenario. Watch the scenario videos on the British resuscitation web site.

I think that you are supposed to use the nontouch scoop method to recap the drawing up needle. We would never resheath in the US, but that's what was recommended in my prep classes here and what I did during my IM scenario...

I took the OSCE on April 5th and got a partial fail for running out of time on APIE Assessment phase (no other negative feedback), and did a partial resit yesterday and passed!! I am SO pleased! I will say, the first scenario was quite complex and my second scenario was simple/fast...

So I'm not calculating any fancy drips? Good to know... Any tips on the APIE? I've been working as an NP in the US and using the medical model for so long that I don't think in terms of nursing dx, and def not anything like the forms that Oxford Brookes have given me.- OSCE REVISION for NMC REGISTRATION
Hi everyone. I'm a US nurse living in the UK (husbands job transferred us). After a year and roughly 500 trees worth of forms, I'm finally scheduled for my OSCE. I've been reading Royal Marsden as well as looking at the practice forms etc provided by Oxford Brookes. Two questions: do we get to use calculators for drug calculation (I'm that girl at work with the mini calc in a pocket) and any advice re the APIE sections? Not knowing what to expect is making me uber crazy. Any other people on here in the Bournemouth area?- Frontier class 130
I don't know, I got a physical because I didn't want to deal...- Frontier class 130
I'm going to FB the 14th -17th. The biggest things are pay bound fees, register for frontier bound on the angel system (you should hear from IT ASAP ) and complete banyan tree 101. You also need a current TB screen and tigers for mmr, hep b and varicella with a note stating you have had a health exam and have no problems that would prevent you from taking part in your program.- Frontier class 130
Congrats!!!- Frontier class 130
I deferred until class 136 so someone will get my spot Rachel - OSCE REVISION for NMC REGISTRATION
