OSCE REVISION for NMC REGISTRATION

I am Wency, a registered nurse in the Philippines. I recently passed the IELTS (8.5, 7,7,7) and the NMC part 1 competency test which is the CBT. Now, I am preparing for the final test which is the OSCE. I am currently in the United Kindom particularly in Lincolnshire, and I would like to ask you guys if you know a training agency in the UK that provides training or preparatory course for OSCE because I am not confident to take it yet for some reasons that the Uk healthcare system is different from the Philippines perhaps they have different approach in providing care to the patients and etc.

Tuition fee for intensive revision for OSCE is not a problem as long as I can enroll for revision.

Cottntale, have you already taken the CBT? I am also a US nurse and wondering how it compares to the OSCE. Are you already in the UK? Would love to chat with someone with first-hand experience. I don't have enough messages to PM yet...

Finally a US nurse that I can run things by! Everyone here has been so helpful, but there are definite differences when you're coming from different countries. I have already taken the CBT (passed) and I have already sent in my forms and documents to NMC.

I've just failed my first try on a couple of tiny things and im due for my resit late March.

I really regret not practicing for the first time. I read a lot and knew what i was doing in theory but it was not enough to stop me making stupid mistakes because of nerves. My one big tip for everyone- practice the Royal Marsden techniques while saying outloud what you are doing at all times. Including even your handwashing. And print the paperwork when you get NILE access and practice it while timing yourself.

Thanks fissure, and congrats. I would be very grateful if I can talk to you, my exam is next week feb 28. I am still unsure of a few things like do I need to do handrub when entering the room? , because I am used to talk to the patient first and wash my hands then check wristband. Please help. You will be standing there in the room but act as if you are just walking in the door. You can introduce yourself, let them know why you are there, ask permission for the assessment, then wash your hands before touching your patient, which you have to do to check the wrist band and allergies.

But also, when in doubt, wash your hands- they arent going to fail you for overwashing, but will if you miss a moment.

I have reapplied to NMC because they said I should do so. Because I failed 2x.got an email saying that I have to send in basically all of my documents that I already sent in at the start of the application.

The only thing that they didn't ask for is the IELTS. This is going to set me way back by time I start gathering documents. My IELTS is going to expire.

I'm so fed up with this ********. Should of never come to this country in the first place.

hi genisha! i feel the same way for my friend here. her cos will expire 3 months before she can retake for the 3rd time. and she will pay every damn thing for the exam. what are your plans?
