Anyone out there planning on going to Orlando Tech for their LPN starting in August? I'm currently in the process of applying for the daytime program, but I feel very in the dark. I went to the orientation, I've sent in my online application, and have heard nothing since. I called and left a message for someone in I think nursing admissions (I got transferred a few times) regarding the next steps. I'd love to meet some people that are going through the process currently, or have done it recently and give me some pointers!
yay! do you know anything about the finances for the program? I tried to go talk to financial aid, but they said they wont have access to it for 2013-2014 until at least june. I have bright futures scholarship but i am not sure if that will pay for it or not. I am just not sure if i need to try and now save up for books/uniform etc..the orientation isnt until july so I will learn more then but that isnt too much time to try and save up since books are 700 and uniform/etc supposed to be around 300..
I have no idea. I honestly don't know how I'm going to pay for it yet. I had already applied for fin aid for Valencia for the fall using FAFSA. I added Orlando Tech on there a couple weeks later. I'm not eligible for grants due to my bachelors degree so I'm pretty much completely in the dark as of right now.
Hey guys I just needed to vent. So Idk what I am going to. For my community college you have to have prerqs for the lpn program which is 2 classes I didnt take and my gpa isnt the greatest. My gpa dropped drastically one summer when I was taking 5 classes and I went home because my bestfriend a sudden death and I didn't return to take the finals which resulted in me failing all 5 classes. I tried to get an administrative withdrawal but they would do it because she wasn't technically "family." Since then I have been working my butt off to push it up and it seems like nothing is good enough. I feel like throwing in the towel. I think im just going to work a 8-5 job and live my life and forget about it all.
Why not look into surg tech or patient care tech at Orlando Tech? Or Valencia's RN program? After completing the pre-req courses, it has a 2 year wait right, but during that time you can complete your A.A. degree. There are options! Just keep your head up!
I turned in my packet just a bit ago and have been provisionally accepted as well for the day time program. I'm turning in my background check early though because of something from a couple years ago that might pop up. I don't know if it was sealed/expunged/erased.. And I have no idea how to find out.

Sorry to hear that:( hope you find something and good luck! its 2 letters but they have the form the people fill out, you dont have to have people actually write rec letters out for you.
