Orlando Tech August 2013

U.S.A. Florida

Anyone out there planning on going to Orlando Tech for their LPN starting in August? I'm currently in the process of applying for the daytime program, but I feel very in the dark. I went to the orientation, I've sent in my online application, and have heard nothing since. I called and left a message for someone in I think nursing admissions (I got transferred a few times) regarding the next steps. I'd love to meet some people that are going through the process currently, or have done it recently and give me some pointers!

It will be ok. I hope everything works out for you.

When do summer classes start? That's so weird payment for my cc has always been due the first week of classes like the Friday, now it's changed to before the classes start is that what happened to you? Maybe they needed to put a deferment on there to hold you in the classes

Next week on Monday. Apparently since I have a financial aid appeal due to already having a BS, my financial aid has to be manually processed. Ugh. They're working on it now and I'm re-registered for classes with a hold protecting me from being dropped. I managed a B in A&P I and Nutrition and an A in psych, so even with this hiccup, I'm looking forward to the summer semester. As soon as that's over, I'll have a week before (hopefully) joining you guys at OTech.

I'm taking the TEAS next week. Anyone going to take the cna course? I signed up for one for the summer

No to the CNA course for me. After the first round of clinicals (or maybe 2nd) we can challenge the exam and work at CNAs/PCTs. I'll be finishing my prereq courses for the Valencia RN bridge and working my tail off at Disney.

The only reason I'm doing it this summer is because I'm fine with my prerequisites and I have nothing to do over the summer. They also waived my tuition so it's free which means less money I have to spend. Plus I want to find a job as a cna before school starts so I could already be settled. But I need to start looking for jobs I move back in the area this summer.

Waived tuition?!

How did you waive tuition?

Yes waived tuition at Daytona State. Ill pm you guys the details

How did your finals go guys?

An A in psych and a B in nutrition and A&P I

Good! They were useless bc I started my first semester at Ucf for psychology, I am so excited about this program, I thought I had to give up nursing.
