What are some MUST HAVES that you recommend for Nursing School? I start in Aug, so have quite some time to look for things.
Our nursing instructors stress how important it is to be organized, and I typically am organized, but doesn't hurt to get tips!
Any suggestions?

A planner. I wrote down every assignment and exam and then went back and wrote down grades for each one. I graduate next Friday and can go back through my planner and see every grade that I have made. It's pretty neat... I would highly recommend it :)

It had some good ideas, but was a little older. My instructors are able to post all powerpoints and docs online for us. A 3 hour Med Surg lecture can easily have 120 slides-- I'm not about to print that out and put it in a binder. Instead, I bring my laptop to class to take notes. I use my iPhone to record the lectures, then play them back when I'm driving. I also use quizlet.com to make flash cards (you can share them with classmates, too!)Try to embrace technology now...you'll be using it frequently in the hospital.

I graduated last Thursday (woo!). Our nursing instructors didn't allow us to use any sort of recording devices or computers in the classroom. We had to print out the powerpoints or attempt to take notes by hand (which is pretty much impossible). Post-It tabs became my best friend. I organized my powerpoints and textbooks with the tabs and was able to easily flip to certain sections. I would suggest the plastic ones over the paper ones because of durability. They really saved my life.
Best wishes to you!

A GOOD planner. I like moleskines weekly planner/journal, weekly planner on left page, right page just ruled page, tons of room for notes to myself. But whatever works best for you, monthly layout, weekly layout.
Post it notes, post it page tabs.
a good binder that deals with opening and closing a lot for power points......i like avery heavy duty. keep a 1" one i carry with me and 2-2.5" that i keep at home and empty the 1" one into after tested on material.
Flash drive to keep on your key chain.....nothing ever beats having that when you need it....and its not too expensive to get one.
Flash cards if that is how you study.
Recorder, ipod with recorder, smart phone with recorder (if recording is allowed of course)
