Oregon License by Endorsement

Published

Hopefully some people can help me on this one. So I put my application in, paid my fees, sent over my transcripts, verified my license, and fingerprinted by February 2nd 2020. It is now March 10th 2020 and I am still hanging in limbo. About 2 weeks ago all things left my checklist and it now says "awaiting final approval from nursing board staff" or something to that effect. I have nothing that should impact my status (clean record, good grades, all requirements met). Has anyone applied for Oregon and how long did the endorsement process take you? Everything says 3-6 weeks on travel nursing sites, but the board of nursing site says in bold letters DO NOT CALL, WE DO NOT HAVE A TIMELINE. So I'm sweating on this over here. Anyone have a timeline it took them to get approved for Endorsement there?

Thank you- I am now wrapping up week 8, they have acknowledged that they received everything over two weeks ago...I appreciate your input. Thanks much!

Yea I did send another. I'm in Southern Oregon where the COVID crisis is currently the worst in the nation and >500 contract healthcare workers are being deployed to the region. Frustrating being a local nurse practitioner and unable to help.

I definitely will. I just sent one on Tuesday asking if I need to apply for the Emergency License now that they opened that up, or if that would just confuse things since I have had my regular application in for so long. Got one of those, "thanks for your patience emails", but no answer to my question...oye. I will give it until tomorrow and send another one, hoping to at least get an answer to my question.

Thanks much!

I sent an email yesterday (one of many) and the license was issued today.

Here's some of the email:

...submitted my application in April 2021. The licensure verification from California was confirmed received on 6/29/21. I understand OSBN does not offer timelines for licensure, however 8 weeks is excessive. Particularly due to the original application being submitted over 4 months ago. I am located in Southern Oregon where the COVID crisis is among the nation’s worst and up to 500 contract healthcare workers are being deployed to this region. Please advise re: how I may escalate this complaint and start providing the assistance this region desperately needs. Thank you.

Contacts to a PA state legislator have been helpful in speeding up licensure processing when delayed --should work in Oregon too.

That's a great idea. Tried again with another polite email and got the same type of response, basically wait, moving on to week 9.

Anyone from California transferring to Oregon? I'm looking to re-locate and find a job out there and would prefer to have a better time frame than the one online.

Hey there! I am currently in the process of transferring my CA license over to OR. How long did yours end up taking..?

I want to say it took 3 months. Since California doesn’t use the online service that a lot of other states use, even with mailing it overnight it took a long time. I also noticed that they were working on RNs endorsements outside the US as well and was told it was delaying the process.
