Oregon License by Endorsement

Published

Hopefully some people can help me on this one. So I put my application in, paid my fees, sent over my transcripts, verified my license, and fingerprinted by February 2nd 2020. It is now March 10th 2020 and I am still hanging in limbo. About 2 weeks ago all things left my checklist and it now says "awaiting final approval from nursing board staff" or something to that effect. I have nothing that should impact my status (clean record, good grades, all requirements met). Has anyone applied for Oregon and how long did the endorsement process take you? Everything says 3-6 weeks on travel nursing sites, but the board of nursing site says in bold letters DO NOT CALL, WE DO NOT HAVE A TIMELINE. So I'm sweating on this over here. Anyone have a timeline it took them to get approved for Endorsement there?

That makes sense. Thank you. I printed on 6/26 and as of 7/20 they were awaiting background report per an email response I received so I checked in again. I am sure we are all driving them nuts, but I wish there was a phone # to call! ?

I know! I even considered just showing up there but it’s closed to the public ☹️. I actually took an assignment somewhere because I couldn’t wait that long. I hope you hear something soon!

So glad someone has gotten theirs!! ? When you say received background check is that the date you fingerprinted or? I applied the day before I fingerprinted (a little over 4 weeks ago) and have been "awaiting final review" for a little over 3 weeks. Hopefully that made sense. I just don't remember when mien ever said background check was received but maybe that was one of the other check boxes that has already cleared ?

I just learned that the fingerprinting instructions will be present on the application until they receive the background check results. Still waiting for mine to complete too. Today's 4 weeks since I was fingerprinted.

I have a happy update! My RN and NP license were both approved today! The BON probably hates me but I made it happen ?

So I heard from the BON that they were waiting on my background check. I then called field print and learned nothing new. Upon examining fieldprints website it said that if your background check was still pending to contact the Oregon DHS. I contacted them and was told that they don't work with the BON and that and I need to speak to the Oregon State Police. Then I called them and got a hold of their background check department. The person I spoke to was so helpful! He verified that my background check was complete, sent it over to the BON, and then called me back to confirm they received it! Then today licenses approved!

Amazing. Congrats.  I'm officially 5 weeks past my NCLEX. I know my fingerprints are done. Ugh...trying to be patient. Really want to email the OSBN but am hesitant to do so.

Can you provide the phone number that you called for Oregon state patrol? Any other info about contacting them would be greatly appreciated.

Congrats on the license approval. ?

My first nursing job was supposed to start today. It's pushed back because the BON has not approved my license yet. I'm at 6.5 weeks now since passing my NCLEX. I sent a polite inquiry at the 6-week mark and received an email back. However, it was basically just a form letter referring me back to the application wizard. I am still firm in my belief that I chose the right profession but I am feeling down on myself at this point due to the length of time this process is taking. ? The lack of transparency is so frustrating.

Finally! 7 weeks and 5 days. I emailed the BON today. I basically said, "after passing my NCLEX 8 weeks ao & no communication from the BON, I feel completely out of the loop and I must assume I am under investigation. Please forward my concerns to somebody available to discuss my case.  Not 15 minutes later I actually got an email from a licensing manager apologizing. They said they had just been busy and hadn't had a chance to complete the application. 1 minute after I got the email, my license was posted.

As much as I appreciate the attention to my email, 3 others in previous weeks fell on deaf ears. If I had not emailed I would likely still not have my license. I have to wonder why others who tested as much as a month after me got their license in 24 hrs and I was made to wait 8 weeks. There is clearly a breakdown somewhere in how the licenses are processed.

Oh my gosh what a hassle! I’m so sorry that happened to you but happy for you that you finally got it! Best of luck!

T- I am glad you finally got your approval. I am in the same boat and have a license already from another state. I have received the same responses you did. Who was the manager that replied back finally?

I submitted in April, OSBN didn't receive my California verification until 6/29 but still no license and going on 8 weeks.

Keep emailing. Be polite but direct and ask for your concerns to be forwarded to a licensing manager.
