  1. That makes sense. Thank you. I printed on 6/26 and as of 7/20 they were awaiting background report per an email response I received so I checked in again. I am sure we are all driving them nuts, but I wish there was a phone # to call! ?
  2. So glad someone has gotten theirs!! ? When you say received background check is that the date you fingerprinted or? I applied the day before I fingerprinted (a little over 4 weeks ago) and have been "awaiting final review" for a little over 3 weeks. Hopefully that made sense. I just don't remember when mien ever said background check was received but maybe that was one of the other check boxes that has already cleared ?
  3. It has been just over 4 weeks since applying for APRN and my items have been "awaiting final review" for 3 weeks. I have been completely stonewalled when I emailed for some clarification of timeline as we are not supposed to ask. You all aren't alone! Please update thread when you get your license issued to help give us some idea.
  4. I have a 2 part question. I will graduate as an FNP in 2 months (YAY!) and am interested in beginning to do short-term volunteer, medical missions as part of my career journey. I can't do long term as I still have 2 kiddos at home. I realize the world is still battling and recovering from COVID, but I am just looking ahead. 1) Does anyone know (or have been involved with) any reputable mission groups that have 1-3 week volunteer opportunities for nurse practitioners? Faith-based okay too as long as medical component. 2) Has anyone done any diploma or coursework abroad that they recommend? For example, there is a tropical diseases nursing course in Liverpool.
  5. Going to join this thread. Any brand new RN's out there? I too, just applied to Simmons for Fall 2016 for the RN-MSN/FNP. I have a prior BS and MS in other non-nursing fields. How long did it take you all to hear back, and what was your experience and GPA?
  6. I am mid-way through my first year of nursing school and love it. I was formerly a high school health and science teacher, and my favorite group of people to work with is teenagers. Is there a specific area of nursing I should look into that deals primarily with teens? I know that pediatrics is all ages up to 18, and that teens could potentially be served in any area, but wanting to know what I haven't thought of...
  7. I am in a similar boat, as I interview for Lane CC Monday. It is more expensive, but I am 99% sure that I will choose OHSU and just go straight through for it. It can't hurt to learn from a great school like OHSU, right? I also like the idea of a much smaller cohort. Those are my thoughts anyhow.
  8. Keeping mine crossed for you as well!
  9. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!
  10. I am fairly new to allnurses. I just found out yesterday that I got into my first choice BSN program at OHSU Monmouth. :woot:I am still in shock and so excited! It was my first time applying, and I feel so honored to have been chosen. I am a career-changer. I currently am a teacher. This has been a strange journey for me, and it is becoming real finally. I am reaching out to all of you. Are you waiting for an acceptance letter? Rejoicing with me? or gritting your teeth and trying again? I hope that we all can encourage one another. It CAN be done!
  11. Congrats! I also have an interview for Lane CC, but I am not sure I will keep it. OHSU was my first choice. I hear ya about the loans :/ lol
  12. Hi there! I just found out today that I will be joining the Fall 2014 OHSU-Monmouth cohort! I was hoping to connect with other people that are starting in the fall as well. I will be commuting from Brownsville. I am so excited! Where else have you applied to? Is this your first time applying? Will you be accepting the offer to attend?
  13. I just got in as well!!! Congrats to you!! SO excited!
  14. I also feel that way. If it is meant to be....but can't lie, I am nervous waiting to hear!! Hey, we have a 50/50 chance, right?
