Ontario Second-Entry Nursing (2017)

World Canada CA Programs

Hey everyone :)

So fall just flew in so I thought what a great time it would be to start my nursing applications lol. It is very early, but I enjoy having this on my mind. I am in my final year at University and am hoping to be a nursing student come next September. I wanted to make a space where we could come together with a common goal: getting accepted. The schools I plan to apply are:

Trent, Toronto, Humber, Western and Queens

Possibly considering RPN programs as well.

Hey cdom12! I accepted it! I asked the coordinator and she said the MSD code was simply because I'm taking it as a second degree. I got a letter from mac after I accepted and it still says Basic-Accelerated Nursing. :)

I just received my admission to UofT in the mail. It's weird because I never got an email regarding my acceptance, only found the package in my mail today! Good luck to those who are still waiting :)

I'll check my mail tomorrow, maybe I got one too... but does anyone know how Nipissing's program is?

Just got accepted to York! Waiting to hear back from Western once my "final grades have been reviewed". However my York offer expires May 17th, don't want to miss out on it. Anyone else encountered this issue?

I accepted my offer to Nipissing's SPP! I'm very excited as this was my first choice because of the smaller program and because it's very centered around application instead of theory! I already have a package waiting for me at home from Nipissing!

Also, I'm still waiting on Western (my application still says "Further Grades Required"), but I won't be accepting their offer if they happen to send me one.

Hey guys! I have a question about the references need for UofT. I will be applying next year. It says that we need one academic reference and one work-related. The academic reference must be someone who taught us in a course. I am wondering if anyone has used a research supervisor for this? I did an independent studies course and my supervisor assigned assignments and graded my work. He gave me a final mark for this course which is on my transcript so I'm wondering if I could use such an academic reference?

Would I be able to use someone I worked on a research project with as a work-related reference (this person didn't grade my work and I worked on different stuff with)?? I have just done so much research all of my references are research-related :p

THanks!!!

Lucky! I have yet to receive my package. I live quite far from North Bay though, in downtown Toronto, so I may have to wait until Monday to receive it.

I used my research supervisor as my academic reference and I was accepted, so I think you should be okay!

For anyone that got accepted to Trent, have you received your admission's package in the mail yet? I live in Burlington, which is a fair ways away from Peterborough, but I got accepted at the end of April and I still haven't gotten the package in the mail.

Just received an offer of admission to UofT! Looking forward to meeting everyone & good luck to those still waiting! :)

I think as long as they evaluated you it should be okay, maybe call admissions to check :)
