Ontario Second-Entry Nursing (2017)

World Canada CA Programs

Hey everyone :)

So fall just flew in so I thought what a great time it would be to start my nursing applications lol. It is very early, but I enjoy having this on my mind. I am in my final year at University and am hoping to be a nursing student come next September. I wanted to make a space where we could come together with a common goal: getting accepted. The schools I plan to apply are:

Trent, Toronto, Humber, Western and Queens

Possibly considering RPN programs as well.

I got my acceptance from UofT last night!! :)

My cGpa: 3.4. I volunteered about 100 hours in a physiotherapy clininc and had two strong references. Good luck to everyone! UofT here I come :)

Congrats! Was your cGPA for your last 10 courses in your final year? Hope you don't mind me asking

I hear all the students that got in to Uoft and cant help but feel a bit jealous. I have a 3.8 in my 3 years of university and I have experience of working at a Nursing lab as a sim assistant but I still have not received any offer. Pretty upset lol maybe UofT prefers students who have a bachelors degree already complete? regardless Congrats to all that got accepted to their first choice.

@najpop I understand it can be difficult to see other people receive acceptances, but try to be patient! I know someone who was previously accepted to U of T in June, so just because you haven't heard yet does not mean you will not receive good news later down the road. While a 3.8GPA is certainly impressive, it does appear that they prefer students with completed degrees and/or plenty of practical experience. I would encourage you to stay involved in things that you are passionate about and good things will come :)

I've accepted my offer to U of T. It sounds like the acceptances are slowly trickling out... I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

I have accepted my offer to McMaster! Has anyone else? And is there a Facebook group created? :)

Side note: I will be declining Nipissing SPP, York, Trent & Humber so those slots will open up to people waiting to hear! And if I receive an acceptance to Western or UofT, I will be passing on those as well!

Super excited to go to Mac in the fall :)!!

Yes I did! Still not sure if nursing is the way I want to go since I will be applying to medical school for Sept 2018

I see. That's a pretty big decision you have there. If ever you end up in Mac nursing I'll see you then!

HI! I accepted my Mac offer as well! I haven't seen a facebook group yet, but I'm so glad there's someone else here who is as excited as I am :)

It was from my entire degree, my last 10 courses is more like a 3.6

Awesome congrats on your acceptance!! I actually have the same GPA as you for my final 10 courses so this makes me happy!! I will be applying for next year :)

Just got an acceptance to Nipissing's Scholar Practitioner program (reply due May 22nd)!! I want to check my status for U of T, but my email is still down, so I want to wait a few days to check that as well.

Hey! Did you guys accept the alternate offer on ouac? I saw that someone said it was a glitch but just want to make sure I am accepting the right offer. Thanks!
