Ontario Second-Entry Nursing (2017)

World Canada CA Programs

Published

Hey everyone :)

So fall just flew in so I thought what a great time it would be to start my nursing applications lol. It is very early, but I enjoy having this on my mind. I am in my final year at University and am hoping to be a nursing student come next September. I wanted to make a space where we could come together with a common goal: getting accepted. The schools I plan to apply are:

Trent, Toronto, Humber, Western and Queens

Possibly considering RPN programs as well.

I just got into UofT on Monday!!! I am so happy, I can't believe it! Is there a facebook group for the class of 2019?? :D

"Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing (U of T) - Class of 2019"

Does anyone know when Nipissing will start sending out acceptances?

Do you mind sharing you stats? Congrats BTW!

For anyone who has been accepted to UofT, have you received any more information about scholarships? I know the email said that they will let us know in "Early Spring" if we will be awarded a scholarship, but I'm wondering if anyone has heard anything more specific. Thanks!

I've been told at the end of April or the first week of May. It may be like last year, where it was on a rolling basis until filled.

Congrats Mehr!! And everyone who has been accepted into U of T!

Anyone getting accepted to UofT (or anywhere for that matter) with like a 3.6 in your last year? That's my GPA and I am extremely nervous about not getting in anywhere. I have tons of volunteer and research experience at SickKids and Health Canada but my GPA worries me.

Hey all!

I'm still waiting for UofT (the only accelerated program that I applied to) but I did get accepted to the Ryerson 4 year program. I'm finishing up my 4th year and most likely will go to Ryerson if I don't get accepted to UofT.

Same for me! If I don't get into York...

well, last year a guy was accepted to the UofT Nursing with dead 70% average, 2 of his 10 half-credits were 51 and 53%. He barely had any experience either. This happened like in mid-late June though.

interesting.. theres definitely people with more 'impressive resumes' who got rejected i've heard. Wish U of T had an objective set of requirements for their program so people know if they have a chance or not of being accepted!

I have also heard of people being accepted at the cut-off. My thought is that GPA is important, but it's not necessarily the singular major prerequisite for getting accepted at some schools...it seems like they are putting a lot of emphasis on CASPer and supplementary applications in addition to your GPA now
