Ontario Second-Entry Nursing (2017)

World Canada CA Programs

Hey everyone :)

So fall just flew in so I thought what a great time it would be to start my nursing applications lol. It is very early, but I enjoy having this on my mind. I am in my final year at University and am hoping to be a nursing student come next September. I wanted to make a space where we could come together with a common goal: getting accepted. The schools I plan to apply are:

Trent, Toronto, Humber, Western and Queens

Possibly considering RPN programs as well.

@Teneleven, if you were already a U of T student then most likely you will have to accept the offer through your student centre on your student portal ( i have no idea what its called or looks like) but usually that how it works. You can always give them a call as well :)

You have to accept it with the Join portal! It pops up after a few days. I got accepted last Thursday, and it just popped up for me today! It will include your official letter of admissions.

Hey, everyone! I received my U of T acceptance last week and have been trying to find a Facebook group or some way to connect with others, so I'm very excited to meet some of you!

If it helps, I was accepted this year and I have around the same GPA as you. I also volunteer at Sicks Kids. Hopefully you get in next year!

Hi everyone, do you guys know if the UofT Bloomberg admission send out rejection letters?

Hey, everyone! I received my U of T acceptance last week and have been trying to find a Facebook group or some way to connect with others, so I'm very excited to meet some of you!

Congratulations! I just found a Facebook group! It's called "Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing (U of T) - Class of 2019" :)

Awesome! Thanks :)

For all that got accepted into UofT, congrats! Are all of you in your final year of university or graduated?

I'm in my second year and heard that they rarely accept people who aren't at least in 4th year. Anyone in second year as well?!

@Future.Nurse1 I'm not sure whether that is the case. I completed my masters a year ago and have been working since. The only other person I know who was accepted was one year into their masters at the time of their acceptance. Keeping my fingers crossed for you!

Does anyone know if York received CASPER results? I know Nipissing did since it's shown up in my account and I had an interview but on the York myfile it's still saying not received.

Hi everyone, do you guys know if the UofT Bloomberg admission send out rejection letters?

Last year I didn't get my rejection email until much later in the summer. It was the last possible week to hear back

Hey, so I'm going to be applying to the second entry programs next Fall. I'm wondering how the last two years work. I'm going to be taking a summer semester (honestly, I took physics and want to void my 3rd year first semester because of the c+), and was wondering if this is what they would use:

Third Year 2nd Semester

Third Year Summer Semester

Fourth Year 1st Semester

Fourth Year 2nd Semester

This is what I'm assuming they would use, as I've read applicants typically get accepted from Feb - June. Also, I had a really bad first year and failed 2 courses (a lot of family/mental health issues), but still currently have a cGPA of 3.2, and aiming for a 3.8 this semester and onward. Does anyone know if that will impact my chances :( I'm also graduating with a certificate/diploma in Disability Management and Interdisciplinary Health studies that goes on my transcript.. anyone know if this will help me?

Also, has anyone applied to four year programs as back up? I am graduating with a Kinesiology degree and have so science credits and electives (some even transfer to nursing credits).

Last year I only applied to UWO and U of T (didn't get into either of them). I have a lower average than most people in my Undergrad. I completed a Engineering degree at UBC in 2014 and have been doing prereqs for the last few years (85-90's in them). This year I applied to some 4 year programs as back ups and got into the Ryerson program downtown. I've already accepted and I'm waiting to hear back from some 2 year programs. Just thought I'd tell you a bit about myself because I know last year I was so anxious waiting to hear back.
