  1. I'm an internal applicant so I didn't use MyFile...so they emailed me...although my status still hasn't changed on my degree request (they said it will be updated by the end of May). But I was hearing that for MyFile peeps it was changing on there as well as they received an email
  2. Just got my acceptance to York this morning! :) So excited!
  3. Any internal applicants from York here that have been accepted? Just wondering if they update the Program Change or e-mail you first? So anxious!!!
  4. I have also heard of people being accepted at the cut-off. My thought is that GPA is important, but it's not necessarily the singular major prerequisite for getting accepted at some schools...it seems like they are putting a lot of emphasis on CASPer and supplementary applications in addition to your GPA now
  5. I can weigh in on Peterborough rental prices...I grew up just west of Peterborough and went to college at Sir Sandford Fleming which is in the south end of town. It is MUCH MUCH cheaper than Toronto. Toronto rental prices are amongst the highest in the country right now. Peterborough is a beautiful city and is wayyyy more affordable for a student budget.
  6. For anyone who applied to York, I contacted the 2nd Entry nursing office this morning and she said that they hope to "send out the majority of offers" over the next few weeks and early May, and that it is possible to receive a conditional offer if you are still completing prerequisites :)
  7. Has anyone heard from York? I was creeping last year's forum and a lot of people were accepted later it seems...like May/June. I may just go crazy if that's the case!
  8. From what I have been seeing on this thread, I think research may help towards nursing! But maybe someone else can weigh in on that? I feel like if you did both it would look really awesome on your application, but I could be wrong. And I am pretty sure it is your most recent credits that they look at. So if you took 5 courses for example like this year, they would include those in GPA of last 2 years...not go back to the last 2 years of your undergrad and take those...especially if the most recent grades are higher. I went to an info session at York for 2nd Entry Nursing last year and they said they try and take your best marks where possible. So I would assume other schools would be similar!
  9. I think they look at both cGPA and GPA from your last 2 years worth of credits - it's probably different from school to school. Like I applied to York - they want you to have a B cGPA but a B+ in last 2 years. And you have to remember, GPA isn't everything anymore with nursing programs. Many of the schools have adopted CASPer and supplementary applications that can have a significant weighting on your application. I know people who had fairly average GPAs and still got in. But I would say you are probably good, especially if you have a strong CASPer/supplementary :)
  10. I was wondering if that's something they do (give you a conditional offer while you finish pre-reqs) or if they always wait until your final grades are in.
  11. Thank you so much for your post!! Definitely helps the anxiety a TON! :)
  12. Woohoo I wrote mine in January too so this is exciting news!!
  13. Haha, of course there is a delay!
  14. I did mine in January but haven't heard anything about it. Hopefully they've received them by now!
  15. At least I was joking! Not sure if the other person was lol
