Hey everyone :)
So fall just flew in so I thought what a great time it would be to start my nursing applications lol. It is very early, but I enjoy having this on my mind. I am in my final year at University and am hoping to be a nursing student come next September. I wanted to make a space where we could come together with a common goal: getting accepted. The schools I plan to apply are:
Trent, Toronto, Humber, Western and Queens
Possibly considering RPN programs as well.
Hey guys, I was just wondering for anybody who hasn't gotten into UofT yet, does your status check say "Application Received"? Or did it change to something like "Under Review"? I'm getting really worried I won't get in. My last year's average is an 85.7... idk what that transfers to for a GPA, but I had initially thought I had a good chance and now I'm so nervous. I only have under a year's worth of clinical volunteering and it's in mental health (because I'm getting my psych degree). Do you guys think I have a chance at all?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Marisa
For others who have been admitted to UofT (yay), did you receive any information in your offer package about awards/scholarships? Just wondering when/how we will be notified if we do qualify for them.
I was wondering that as well. Also, how long did it take for your offer package to arrive? I live in BC, so I'm guessing it will take quite a while for mine to get here.
I received it in the mail within a week! I got the acceptance e-mail on the 13th and received the package in the mail today (20th). There was the Easter long weekend this past week as well which might have added a bit of a delay, but quick nonetheless. Everything I received in the mail was what was in the pdf offer on my join.utoronto.ca account which is why I'm wondering about awards/scholarships. My friend said she received the awards information along with her offer letter last year.I was wondering that as well. Also, how long did it take for your offer package to arrive? Has ayone taken BIOL 235 from Athabascau to fulfill the UofT physio requirement? I know UofT states you need one full credit in physio and BIOL 235 is stated as a transferrable credit. However, BIOL 235 is both anatomy and physiology, so I am wondering if I can take this course to fulfill the entire UofT physio credit or if I need another half course in physio in addition to BIOL 235? Thanks!

Biol 235 fulfills the requirement. I'm taking it now and I got accepted to UofT. :)
Does anyone know what is my chances of getting in (UofT nursing) if the other half of my physiology that I have taken is animal physiology? Will they allow this as well?
On November of last year, I checked their physiology equivalent list and half of my uoft physiology course is in the list, but this other half credit I took, its animal physiology and not listed. This is the thing, some of the courses listed there for other universities re mammalians (which include animals as well). Additionally, this animal physiology course I took, the professor is actually a real human doctor and she used 80% human physiology materials (human diagrams, etc) to teach this course.
In terms of GPA, my last 2 years (including this year) is around 3.7-3.8 uoft scale. I don't have that much experiences in the hospital though, although I have experiences dealing with people, particularly kids. So yeah, do you guys think I still have chances? My problem is, I applied to a master program as well and I got accepted already, and the due date is on the 27th of this month...

I read that on the forum as well...probably because he's a man. lol But seriously, I did honestly wonder how as there were so many applicants with much better stats who got rejected.
