Hey everyone :)
So fall just flew in so I thought what a great time it would be to start my nursing applications lol. It is very early, but I enjoy having this on my mind. I am in my final year at University and am hoping to be a nursing student come next September. I wanted to make a space where we could come together with a common goal: getting accepted. The schools I plan to apply are:
Trent, Toronto, Humber, Western and Queens
Possibly considering RPN programs as well.
Hi everyone!
Just wanted to say congratulations to those who got accepted! I am currently waiting to hear from UofT and Western. I haven't heard anything from either school so I am getting fairly nervous. I have my exam for my last pre-req tomorrow so I am hoping that getting those marks in will speed up their decision!
I had a GPA of 3.9 in my last two years of my undergrad and A's and high B's in all of my pre-reqs completed so far, however I did quite poorly in my first two years. When I went to the orientation for UofT they said that they consider the applicant's whole university record but mostly base the decision on the final year, so I am kind of freaking out!
Does anyone know if UofT or Western sends out conditional offers?
Wishing everyone all the best!
whould you mind share your grades and resume?
I have an electrical engineering degree... I think my overall average is ~75% (last year was ~85). I also included my high school marks and I had an overall average of ~95% in my last year. I have volunteered at St. Mikes and WCH in Toronto for about 2 years now.

I know that last year Western sent out conditional offers
Hi everyone,
I've been following this thread throughout the application/waiting process, and I'm excited to share that I received my UofT acceptance today (via e-mail). It's my first choice so I will be accepting it once it appears on OUAC. In case anyone is wondering about my stats, I had a 3.93 GPA (equivalent to an A) in my final year, volunteered as a research assistant on campus for a couple of years and completed an honours thesis within the same lab, worked at a health care organization, and was really involved in clubs on campus as well. I'm really happy and excited to meet everyone in September!
Hi everyone,
I am curious if anyone had been admitted to the second entry prep program at Humber. Ontariocolleges.ca site still has the program listed on open status and thus I decided to apply last minute. It's only been less than a week since I hit the submit button in the application.
I have an undergraduate and graduate degrees in health/social services as well as practice registration in one of the colleges for allied health sciences. I have a 4.0 gpa in my last two years of undergraduate and 3.8 cGPA. I have an OK gpa in graduate school 3.5. Do you guys think they will only calculate the last two yeas of undergrad or they'd include the grade calculation in graduate school?
I have not taken any of the pre req courses requirements (i.e. anatomy and physiology, psychology, microbiology, biochem, etc. - sciences) that's required my most nursing schools but Humber has the preparation semester --- thus making it my fist and only ultimate choice. I am am however taking a physiology course but don't even know if it will get credited to any of the prereq courses at humber. Anyhow, do you guys think that the lack of prerequisites affect my admission or will they base it only on GPA?
Those who have applied to the humber/unb program -- what have you guys heard about the program? curriculum wise? teaching? practicum/training? mental health/counselling support? I am curious to know how intensive/frequent the labs and simulation-based learning are in the program?
Also, one of my transcripts got missent to the office of admissions instead of getting sent to ontariocolleges.ca. The office of admissions at humber is terrible at getting back to my inquiries. I wanted to know, from those that have any experience, if humber will accept it and put update it on my file or I have to resend them to ontario colleges. It is so terrifying that they may close the status and they have not received all required documentation in time.
If anyone could provide insights to my queries, I would be grateful.
:)

I also applied to Trent, but it's my third choice so I'm stressing pretty hard waiting to hear from Western and Mac. I'm done all the pre reqs, and I think my marks are solid- I'm more worried about the CASPer results because I have no idea how that test went. Hopefully though they schools will start sending out responses soon! :)
