Ontario Second-Entry Nursing (2017)

Published

Hey everyone :)

So fall just flew in so I thought what a great time it would be to start my nursing applications lol. It is very early, but I enjoy having this on my mind. I am in my final year at University and am hoping to be a nursing student come next September. I wanted to make a space where we could come together with a common goal: getting accepted. The schools I plan to apply are:

Trent, Toronto, Humber, Western and Queens

Possibly considering RPN programs as well.

For anyone still waiting to hear from Trent, does your application status say "WA"?

Got my acceptance to U of T yesterday!

4.0 GPA, only extra curricular was a year of experience in a psych research lab.

I received an acceptance from Trent today as well! I am hoping for something a little closer to home because I don't want to move to Peterborough. I am going to weigh my options and see if I receive any more acceptances, but it will probably be an open spot for someone else waiting to get in :)

Congrats! :) Does anyone know how much Trent takes into account Casper test results? I have a similar average as to others already accepted but I haven't heard back from them yet

@ Damir Congratulations !!! Would you mind sharing how you got the news (email, Ouac or Joinid )

Hi! The department told me through e-mail that "applicants must achieve a minimum score on the CASPer test to be considered for admission". But I don't know if that means that they only use it as a cut-off or if they actually weigh it.

I'm a little nervous because my application on myTrent states "EL" (accepted elsewhere) on the same date that I accepted Queens... does anyone know if Trent still gives offers to people who already accepted another offer?

I was accepted a few weeks ago to the full ryerson program

Hi there,

I got an email notice - the email says JoinID and OUAC should follow shortly after:

Congratulations on your acceptance to the Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing Second Entry BScN program. Your official offer of admission will be posted on Join U of T (http://join.utoronto.ca) and mailed to you in a few days.

Please note that all students are REQUIRED to fulfill and disclose the following before entering the BScN program:

THank you soo much it was so helpfull, around when did you submit your application ( supplemental one )

Does anyone know when Western or Mac intend to send out acceptances?

@Damir Doma congratulations! Did you have any outstanding prereqs or was everything completed and sent in at the time of applying?

Does anyone know when Western or Mac intend to send out acceptances?

I am currently waiting on the same two schools! Literally so stressful! When I called McMaster a few weeks ago, she said they would start handing out acceptances in late April/early May. I'll also note, incase this applies to you, that she said they do not wait for winter final marks. If you are currently in any pre-reqs, you could be conditionally accepted. As far as for Western, I have not directly called myself, but from what I gather, the situation is similar to McMaster.
