Hey everyone :)
So fall just flew in so I thought what a great time it would be to start my nursing applications lol. It is very early, but I enjoy having this on my mind. I am in my final year at University and am hoping to be a nursing student come next September. I wanted to make a space where we could come together with a common goal: getting accepted. The schools I plan to apply are:
Trent, Toronto, Humber, Western and Queens
Possibly considering RPN programs as well.
Hi everyone!
I have gotten an acceptance from Humber College but am still waiting to hear back from Trent. I heard that it could even take up to June to get a response from Trent. This is very alarming to me because Humber has given until May 1st to accept (they want a $500 non-refundable deposit).
If I don't accept Humber and I don't get into Trent...I'm out of luck! I feel a bit frustrated and I'm sure many of you guys are in the same position. $500 is a lot of money to me.
Also, the question comes down to Humber vs. Trent. I'm somebody that has never lived in Ontario in my life and have heard Toronto is crazy expensive. Is Peterborough a lot more affordable?
So my choice comes down to:
-Expenses (Which university/college would be cheaper to live in)
-Opportunities (Are there better job opportunities at Trent or Humber?)
-Overall learning experience (Class sizes/quality of teaching)
Do any of you guys have advice on Trent vs. Humber?
Congratulations to all people who have been accepted and good luck to those who are still waiting :).

I can weigh in on Peterborough rental prices...I grew up just west of Peterborough and went to college at Sir Sandford Fleming which is in the south end of town. It is MUCH MUCH cheaper than Toronto. Toronto rental prices are amongst the highest in the country right now. Peterborough is a beautiful city and is wayyyy more affordable for a student budget.
Hey! I am in the exact same position as you. I went to Humber's open house on saturday and was really impressed with their program. I got to talk to the Dean and current students that made me feel a lot better about accepting Humber. One thing that Humber has over Trent is the placement oppurtunities that Toronto has which would be a good expereince! I am hoping to hear back from Trent soon to better compare the two! Goodluck and congrats to getting in :)
Hey all! I just received an offer of admission to Trent a few hours ago, and accepted it since I literally only applied to this school. Really excited! I've visited the school and really loved the program and the environment.
I'm originally from downtown Toronto and currently a UofT student, but wanted to get out of the city for a change. Anyone else have their eyes set on Trent?
I received an acceptance from Trent today as well! I am hoping for something a little closer to home because I don't want to move to Peterborough. I am going to weigh my options and see if I receive any more acceptances, but it will probably be an open spot for someone else waiting to get in :)
