Ontario Second-Entry Nursing

Published

Hi Everyone!

This is super early to talk about applying to nursing school for 2016, but it's always better to be well-prepared! Let's share some thoughts and help each other out!

I am re-applying to nursing schools as I did not get in last year, and planning to enroll to more courses for pre-reqs and to increase my GPA (I graduated with a B.A.)hopefully this year will be much better and with luck!!!!

I have a few universities in mind to apply -

  1. University of Toronto
  2. York
  3. Nipissing
  4. Western
  5. Queen's
  6. McMaster

Should I apply to more? Which one should I apply? I am super eager to enter the program and I failed once, failing twice is not allowed!

Feel Free to give me suggestions or ask questions! Here is a link I found online listing most of the second entry nursing programs.

Best wishes to everyone! Good Luck!

-Bon :)

I got accepted to the Western compressed program either May 31st or June 1st (I checked on June 1st but didn't check May 31st). My average was 84.9... something, I forget exactly what, and I have a degree in Health Sciences from Western. Hope to see you all in the fall! And good luck to everyone waiting to hear back!

I just got an acceptance to uoft!

Congratulations ekel! Me too!

Thanks and Congrats! My join account still says application received when I checked my status. Where do we accept our offer

Hey if you don't mind me asking, what were your grades/app like?

has anyone called UOFT to ask how many spots they still have left?

3.7 in last year. Two degrees, worked as a medical assistant for 2 years

has anyone called UOFT to ask how many spots they still have left?

they couldn't give a number but almost all of the acceptances have already been sent out ... very few spots are left according to the registrar office (as of today)

There's still hope right later in the summer? Other applicants may have applied to other schools/program (eg. Medicine) right? Those schools might give them acceptances and more spots may open later right? I can't believe that every applicants now being offered a spot all have 3.7 GPAs and have master/ 2 degrees already right? There are other considerations beside GPA, otherwise what's the point of the supplemental application?
