Ontario Second-Entry Nursing

Published

Hi Everyone!

This is super early to talk about applying to nursing school for 2016, but it's always better to be well-prepared! Let's share some thoughts and help each other out!

I am re-applying to nursing schools as I did not get in last year, and planning to enroll to more courses for pre-reqs and to increase my GPA (I graduated with a B.A.)hopefully this year will be much better and with luck!!!!

I have a few universities in mind to apply -

  1. University of Toronto
  2. York
  3. Nipissing
  4. Western
  5. Queen's
  6. McMaster

Should I apply to more? Which one should I apply? I am super eager to enter the program and I failed once, failing twice is not allowed!

Feel Free to give me suggestions or ask questions! Here is a link I found online listing most of the second entry nursing programs.

Best wishes to everyone! Good Luck!

I created a facebook group for the 2nd Entry Nursing Program at York!

Not sure if you're allowed to have the link on this site, but if it gets deleted just search "York University Second Entry Nursing Class of 2018" in the "Group" section on facebook!

See you in September!

I was just accepted to the York program with the requirement to complete physio with higher than a B+ is anyone else in the same situation?

Hey, I got accepted to Yorks program too! Just wondering, where did you read your offer requirements? My email or offer on MyFile OR on OUAC do not state anything but a deadline.

Congrats!

If I accept York will UofT not bother to accept me? Or will I also see their offer even after I accept York?

Hey everyone! I've been accepted to Mac, York, Western, Queens, and Humber this year.

My Cumulative GPA was a 3.1 (about 74%), and my 2yr Sub GPA was 3.75 (about 81%).

I'm really struggling to decide between Mac and York (I only have 5 days left to decide). I did my undergrad at Mac so I'm very familiar with the campus, and I know a bit about the program since a few of my friends just graduated from the 4-year program. But I don't really know much about the York program or how it compares to Mac since I've been getting very mixed reviews. If anyone could help me out with information about either program that would be awesome!

Has anyone heard back from UofT yet? I know they said offers come in until end of june but it would've been nice if they rolled them out along with western, york and the others

Hey! I just called the admissions office and they said that they are trying their best to get back to us about their decisions. They have already sent out rejection and acceptances, but they have not started on the wait list yet. Fingers crossed, hopefully we hear back from them soon! I'm literally checking my email every couple of hours =(

Hey so did they already send out all their acceptances and rejections? As in are they only going to send out wait list notifications now?

Nope ! They're not done sending out acceptances and rejections yet. I tried asking her if there are still spaces left in the program and she just kept stating that there are but she can't say how many seats are left because it changes from day to day. So I don't know if they're almost done sending out all the acceptances or not =( but there are still spots left !

Hope that helps

I read it on the letter they sent to me in my email. If you just got your acceptance letter saying congrats and no mention of anything else then I guess you're good.
