Hi Everyone!
This is super early to talk about applying to nursing school for 2016, but it's always better to be well-prepared! Let's share some thoughts and help each other out!
I am re-applying to nursing schools as I did not get in last year, and planning to enroll to more courses for pre-reqs and to increase my GPA (I graduated with a B.A.)hopefully this year will be much better and with luck!!!!
I have a few universities in mind to apply -
Should I apply to more? Which one should I apply? I am super eager to enter the program and I failed once, failing twice is not allowed!
Feel Free to give me suggestions or ask questions! Here is a link I found online listing most of the second entry nursing programs.
Best wishes to everyone! Good Luck!

I was just wondering if anyone who has attended the second entry nursing programs at YorkU and/or U of T Bloomberg (or knows anyone who has attended) can give me some information to compare the two schools. I did my undergrad at YorkU so my inclination is to accept their offer but from what I've read on the website you do not get to do all areas of nursing in your placements at York (e.g.: you do either paediatric or mental health but not both & either medical or surgical but not both) whereas at U of T the placements encompass all areas. Also I've heard that York's program has a lot of group work (e.g.: group essays and assignment) whereas U of T is more independent study. I was just hoping somebody on here could elaborate as to how true this is or could provide any more information that would be helpful to me in making my decision between the two schools. Also regarding the level of difficulty of the tests/assignments is U of T really that much more difficult in terms of how they test and mark their students? Thanks, any details would really help me out.
hey my friend is doing the second entry nursing program at YorkU, she complains about the program so much. she says the profs doesnt teach well and the placements are messed up. you dont get to do placements at good hospitals. she also mentioned that there is so much group work and sometimes because of your group members, you get a bad grade. so i think you should go with UBC its a great university but still its your choice. good luck :)

as I mentioned earlier your degree from which school you graduate matters a lot so UOFT is much better than YORKU. i have seen one my friend graduating from UOFT with nursing degree and my brother from yorku, my friend got job offers right away and my brother couldn't find a job in so long. as you mentioned that Uoft's placements are much much better compared to York. in terms of marking i am studying at york right now its not that easy as people have been talking about it. York university has gotten much harder in terms of grading assignments or tests. and also my brother always complained about the group work he had to do and sometimes because of his group members he got a bad mark on his assignments. i think you should go with uoft because you will have a degree from an amazingly recognized university but still its upto you good luck:)

Does anyone know if western just looks at grades? For example Do people who have a complete undergrad degree have advantage over those applying out of second year?
