Ontario Second-Entry Nursing

Published

Hi Everyone!

This is super early to talk about applying to nursing school for 2016, but it's always better to be well-prepared! Let's share some thoughts and help each other out!

I am re-applying to nursing schools as I did not get in last year, and planning to enroll to more courses for pre-reqs and to increase my GPA (I graduated with a B.A.)hopefully this year will be much better and with luck!!!!

I have a few universities in mind to apply -

  1. University of Toronto
  2. York
  3. Nipissing
  4. Western
  5. Queen's
  6. McMaster

Should I apply to more? Which one should I apply? I am super eager to enter the program and I failed once, failing twice is not allowed!

Feel Free to give me suggestions or ask questions! Here is a link I found online listing most of the second entry nursing programs.

Best wishes to everyone! Good Luck!

Hey guys!, I had a very bad luck with my applications this year, I applied in the February while I was still taking courses in the winter term so my GPA was not that competitive but after finishing the winter term i did so will that my gpa bumped up to a 7.5 on york's scale which is a high B+. But it is so extremely sad that by this time ( First week of may) almost every school had already sent their offers and now I am put on the waitlist for every single school :(. My first choice is Trent, do you guys think anyone will decline their offer their trent now? cuz I know it is pretty late, I am on the waitlist for McMaster, Trent, York while humber kicked me out even though my gpa was higher than their cut off. Extremely depressed any input will be appreciated. Congratulation to all the lucky ones who got into their school of choice

Don't give up hope! Many schools still give out offers well into July. Also I'm sure there are other applicants who are holding onto offers until their first-choice unis contact them. I've just rejected my offer for Trent for Mac because my due date is in June. It is not the end of the world if you don't get into any unis, you can apply next year as you're gpa is competitive enough (just apply early next time!). Good luck!

I haven't heard back yet either! I'm so nervous cause I didn't apply to any schools either

has anyone heard back from western recently? getting anxious since its the only school i applied too haha

I know how you feel lol UofT was the only one I applied to and I haven't heard back either! Hopefully everything goes well for us =)

i got wait-listed for western. anyone else?

If you don't mind my asking, what was your 2yr average? I still don't have any decision posted on my student center.

Yup, I just checked an hour ago.

I just got offered admission to Western this morning! I'm on cloud nine, especially after being rejected from Ottawa U. Good luck to those who still haven't heard yet!

My average for two years is 83.5%. Dont worry, they should continue sending out offers this week.

Thanks! I'm not that excited haha, but atleast its something. It did show up on student center only, but I didn't get an email surprisingly.

Also, if anyone's curious, I called and asked for my place on waitlist, and the lady told me they aren't sorted in "places" but sorted in "pools". I asked for clarification and she told me to talk to sara grey, but she's extremely busy this week. So if anyone else knows, please share :) i don't wana have high hopes for another 2 months lol
