Ontario Second-Entry Nursing

Published

Hi Everyone!

This is super early to talk about applying to nursing school for 2016, but it's always better to be well-prepared! Let's share some thoughts and help each other out!

I am re-applying to nursing schools as I did not get in last year, and planning to enroll to more courses for pre-reqs and to increase my GPA (I graduated with a B.A.)hopefully this year will be much better and with luck!!!!

I have a few universities in mind to apply -

  1. University of Toronto
  2. York
  3. Nipissing
  4. Western
  5. Queen's
  6. McMaster

Should I apply to more? Which one should I apply? I am super eager to enter the program and I failed once, failing twice is not allowed!

Feel Free to give me suggestions or ask questions! Here is a link I found online listing most of the second entry nursing programs.

Best wishes to everyone! Good Luck!

Hey! Was this for UofT or Western??

Hi I just spoke to western over the phone and they said admissions will be going out throughout this entire week so I don't think may 31st is the last day!

ok thank you! Is this the last week?

I got accepted by Western last week! Still waiting for Mac though...

had you applied to any other schools, is western your first choice ?

Hey guys!, I had a very bad luck with my applications this year, I applied in the February while I was still taking courses in the winter term so my GPA was not that competitive but after finishing the winter term i did so will that my gpa bumped up to a 7.5 on york's scale which is a high B+. But it is so extremely sad that by this time ( First week of may) almost every school had already sent their offers and now I am put on the waitlist for every single school :(. My first choice is Trent, do you guys think anyone will decline their offer their trent now? cuz I know it is pretty late, I am on the waitlist for McMaster, Trent, York while humber kicked me out even though my gpa was higher than their cut off. Extremely depressed any input will be appreciated. Congratulation to all the lucky ones who got into their school of choice

ok thank you! Is this the last week?

im not too sure! I would assume would be out by this friday

Hey!! Thanks for the update ! Really appreciate it :)

Has anyone heard back from UofT recently

Page Not Found - Lawrence S. Bloomberg Faculty of Nursing

this is a link to the website page which goes into detail about how to obtain a police record check depending on where you're from. Basically you are right about having to go to your nearest regional police station, BUT you have to email our program coordinator and request a volunteer letter to be sent to you. This letter, I presume, has to be taken to whichever station you end up going to in order to complete your background check.

Hmmmm last 2 years? Probably 10.5/12? Overall GPA is 10/12 for sure!

McMaster is my first choice! I got into Trent, Queen's and Western. Accept the offer from Western for now

In everyone's opinion, would McMaster and Western be considered better schools than Humber?

has anyone heard back from western recently? getting anxious since its the only school i applied too haha
