Hi Everyone!
This is super early to talk about applying to nursing school for 2016, but it's always better to be well-prepared! Let's share some thoughts and help each other out!
I am re-applying to nursing schools as I did not get in last year, and planning to enroll to more courses for pre-reqs and to increase my GPA (I graduated with a B.A.)hopefully this year will be much better and with luck!!!!
I have a few universities in mind to apply -
Should I apply to more? Which one should I apply? I am super eager to enter the program and I failed once, failing twice is not allowed!
Feel Free to give me suggestions or ask questions! Here is a link I found online listing most of the second entry nursing programs.
Best wishes to everyone! Good Luck!

The only forms you send hard copies of via post are the police record check and the immunization forms. Remember to make lots of copies and/or scan them for yourself - some clinicals may require to see both and the faculty doesn't print out copies. The other forms can be signed/scanned and uploaded online. There's a link for undergraduate Y1 form submissions. As for the police record check, you have to drop by the nursing building on College Street during certain hours to collect a specific record check form that is signed by the Program Coordinator (I forgot what his name was). When the record check is done, the original will be sent to your home address.
Hope this helps! The only reason I know is because I'm almost done all of the paperwork, just waiting on the record check to arrive in the post and obtaining my T card.
Thank you very much for all your help IV2016!
I have one more question for you. If I do not reside in the Toronto area, am I able to go to a police station near my house that does Vulnerable Sector Screening and send U of T the check report? Or must I pick up the form from downtown?
Hey folks -- for those of you choosing McMaster this fall, I threw together a group. I'll do my best to accept requests to join as soon as I'm able to.Search for McMaster Accelerated Nursing Class of 2018 (go into the groups tab of the search if it doesn't come up right away)
I can't seem to find it...
Hello everyone. I have been following these forums for a long time now. I read other's stats and experiences, but this goes out to others who follow these forums as well and possibly have experience in similar circumstances as me. I have only applied to Uoft.
I am am graduating from university this June as well, but my final year GPA is only 3.1. When I read other posts I feel hopeless about my chances.
Even though ugh I have a lower GPA I hope my experiences as a Medical Lab Assistant with Dynalife for 2 years. Dealing with patients needs by understanding and ordering the right tests on their requisition, possessing string venipuncture skills, performing electrocardiograms on many patients, preparing patient specimens for transport, and performing first aid if necessary. I also volunteer as a medical first responder with st.john ambulance for 5 years and have led as team lead in big community events and festivals. I have handled many scenarios from minor cuts to severe cardiac arrest and spinal incidents. I also have volunteered with the newcomer centre for new immigrants and tutored their children as well. I also have volunteered with university choir for 2 years and have volunteered and practiced with my kendo club for 5 years.
Despite my low GPA do you think I still have a shot for Do any current students know of any students present in the current program with similar circumstances?
What at do you guys think?
