Hi Everyone!
This is super early to talk about applying to nursing school for 2016, but it's always better to be well-prepared! Let's share some thoughts and help each other out!
I am re-applying to nursing schools as I did not get in last year, and planning to enroll to more courses for pre-reqs and to increase my GPA (I graduated with a B.A.)hopefully this year will be much better and with luck!!!!
I have a few universities in mind to apply -
Should I apply to more? Which one should I apply? I am super eager to enter the program and I failed once, failing twice is not allowed!
Feel Free to give me suggestions or ask questions! Here is a link I found online listing most of the second entry nursing programs.
Best wishes to everyone! Good Luck!
-Bon :)
I am still waiting to hear from Western also. I contacted them yesterday as I am just finishing my final exam for Athabasca Biology 235 on Tuesday and then need to submit my transcript. I was informed that no offers would be going out until May but would appear on this forum that some offers have already gone out? My GPA is 3.82 I am a western grad from 2015 with a double major and had gone to see an academic adviser prior to apply to the compressed course, she informed me I would be competitive to get into the course so keeping my fingers crossed!!!
That's so strange ! I also know people that have gotten into western already and with a lower GPA than me. It makes no sense since I thought admission decisions are based on marks. I heard that most people would be hearing by the end of this week whether they are accepted or deferred for final marks but who knows ! Good luck :)

Have you completed all the required courses? They may be waiting for the final marks before making a decision.

No, I'm still waiting for my final grades to appear for two pre-reqs. But my friend is also waiting for the same two course marks and already got an acceptance-- a slightly lower gpa than mine too.
II'm not sure if you meant to direct that to me but I haven't heard anything yet. My friend got an email telling him to check his account and I guess it indicated accepted there . Either way, you'll get an email :)
Hey! Congratulatons :) !!!Where did you receive an acceptance for Western? Did it show up on the Student Center with a check mark by admitted? Or did you receive an email in your personal email account?
I have been accepted to Humber but still waiting on Western and McMaster
Hi Everyone!
It's that time of the year where we hopefuls are all sitting tight waiting for news...
I applied to 2nd entry programs at York and Nipissing.
Has anyone heard anything back yet from York? I received an invitation to interview from Nipissing but haven't heard back from York at all yet
I know York changed their admission requirements this year to include OSCAR scores therefore the decision-making process takes longer than previous years. I called admissions about a week ago and they said they will start to make decisions in May. Has anyone heard back yet? I am nervous since they don't tell you how well you performed on the OSCAR which weighs 1/3rd of the final decision.
Good luck everyone!
I have not heard back from York yet as well. By OSCAR, do you mean the CASPer test? It is quite nervewracking not knowing how well we did on our CASPers, but goodluck to everyone who applied! They should sending out offers soon, considering full transcript marks were released roughly last week.
Hello to all!!Congratulations to all who have already gotten in, and for those who haven't do not worry there is still so much time.

Hi! I'll be joining ya... It's super early to ask this, but I was wondering about placements. Do we have the chance to do placements in hospitals outside of Kingston in our final year? I'm interested in pediatrics so I really hope so. What is the paediatric scene like at KGH, is there 1 floor?

Congrats on UofT! And lots of luck with your exam! I still have to write that one. Please let me know if it was more difficult or easier than you expected or how it compared to the other exams.

Hi! Congrats, Queen's is a really amazing school! You can choose your consolidation, which runs from mid June to August of your last year wherever they take students, many go to their home towns or stay in Kingston. There is one paediatrics rotation and one OB/Maternity. There is a floor for each at KGH, although some students opt for community placements. If you choose or get chosen for a community placement you still get opportunities on the floor, and would only get community for one of the rotations not both. But most people end up at KGH. The paediatrics/OB class runs Winter semester and placement occurs in the summer. You also may get one shift in the NICU as well.
