Ontario Second-Entry Nursing

Published

Hi Everyone!

This is super early to talk about applying to nursing school for 2016, but it's always better to be well-prepared! Let's share some thoughts and help each other out!

I am re-applying to nursing schools as I did not get in last year, and planning to enroll to more courses for pre-reqs and to increase my GPA (I graduated with a B.A.)hopefully this year will be much better and with luck!!!!

I have a few universities in mind to apply -

  1. University of Toronto
  2. York
  3. Nipissing
  4. Western
  5. Queen's
  6. McMaster

Should I apply to more? Which one should I apply? I am super eager to enter the program and I failed once, failing twice is not allowed!

Feel Free to give me suggestions or ask questions! Here is a link I found online listing most of the second entry nursing programs.

Best wishes to everyone! Good Luck!

-Bon :)

People waiting on York, I didn't get an email from them but checked myfile randomly last night and it said admitted - I guess in the past couple of days sometimes I was accepted. So make sure you check myfile!

Hi, do you mind sharing your GPA?

I got into York on Friday! Just to let people know they must have started with their acceptances!

Sure, my cGPA is 3.95. I will be going to UofT though, so I won't be accepting York's offer- one more spot for somebody else :) Good luck!

I had a 3.6 overall and a 3.85+ GPA in my last year.

oh congrats @Nursie944, i called them last week and one of the reps told me they were rejecting people for 2 weeks first before accepting anyone this year -_- maybe they want to cut down the pool size but you definitely stood out to them :)

Oh really? That's kinda weird. I called a long time ago and they said all decisions were made in May.

Its really hard to know your competitiveness when you don't know you Casper score too! Im pretty sure they just started with acceptances anyway - hopefully you hear soon!! :)

hey everyone! Sorry I know I asked about this already but just wanted to double check. For those going to U of T next year who are internal applicants, you only accepted your offer on join.utoronto.ca right? haha im just super paranoid that I didn't accept it properly and that I'll lose my place. My status on join is "offer accepted"

I was an external applicant so I accepted my offer through OUAC but my status on join.utoronto.ca says the same thing as yours "Offer Accepted" so I'm sure you accepted it properly.

Thanks so much!

Hey :)

I was internal and just accepted over join as well!

Does anyone have any information to share on why they picked either U of T or York? Looking for some opinions on the two schools!
