Ontario Second-Entry Nursing

Published

Hi Everyone!

This is super early to talk about applying to nursing school for 2016, but it's always better to be well-prepared! Let's share some thoughts and help each other out!

I am re-applying to nursing schools as I did not get in last year, and planning to enroll to more courses for pre-reqs and to increase my GPA (I graduated with a B.A.)hopefully this year will be much better and with luck!!!!

I have a few universities in mind to apply -

  1. University of Toronto
  2. York
  3. Nipissing
  4. Western
  5. Queen's
  6. McMaster

Should I apply to more? Which one should I apply? I am super eager to enter the program and I failed once, failing twice is not allowed!

Feel Free to give me suggestions or ask questions! Here is a link I found online listing most of the second entry nursing programs.

Best wishes to everyone! Good Luck!

Anyone heard from UofT recently?

Hello! i heard back today and received my acceptance to their nursing program! :)

How do we accept the offer if we applied using the internal application for uoft? I tried looking on the joinuoft site and wasnt able to see anything where I can accept the program.

congrats!! What was your application like? If you don't mind answering :)

Anyone hear back from York?

Don't worry, you'll soon be able to accept the offer on join! It was a few days before I could accept mine. I think it just takes a couple of days for Admissions to officially code your offer in acorn/rosi. Once you accept, it will take a day or 2 more for your response to be processed. Your rosi will also update :)

(Or you can fill out the acceptance form that comes in the mail with your official acceptance package. I think it would take a lot longer for your response to be processed this way, though.)

Hey everyone,

I know a bunch of us have heard back from UofT (so congrats!!) and for those who haven't (hold tight!!) I'm sure good news is on its way. Did anyone get any awards/financial stipends? I applied to a bunch, as I am not well-off financially and I am just finishing a Masters so I have debt from that. I am wondering if they let us know if we received any awards in May or if anyone already has?! The email says "early spring"...

Cheers!

Hi :) thank you!

My cGPA was a 3.00 and the last two years was a 3.6 or so I believe!

I did however do a lot of extracurriculars. I volunteered at Sick Kids for four years, I worked in two labs for three years, my friends and I started a club at our university to help people experiencing homelessness, as well as being a part of the Emergency Medical Response Group at our university for three years.

Don't worry, UofT continues giving out acceptances up until June I believe :) Good luck

Has anyone heard anything about wen McMaster or York are going to release acceptances?

For those who have been accepted into Western do you mind sharing your average over the last 2 years? im at an 84.95% and getting worried that other people have heard back!

Congrats on the acceptance to Western! If you don't mind me asking, what was your average over the last 10 courses?

I got into York on Friday! Just to let people know they must have started with their acceptances!

Hey, congrats on your acceptance! I did receive a scholarship. I was accepted April 18th but the scholarship letter was dated April 8th and it didn't get to me until the end of April.
