Ontario Second-Entry Nursing

Published

Hi Everyone!

This is super early to talk about applying to nursing school for 2016, but it's always better to be well-prepared! Let's share some thoughts and help each other out!

I am re-applying to nursing schools as I did not get in last year, and planning to enroll to more courses for pre-reqs and to increase my GPA (I graduated with a B.A.)hopefully this year will be much better and with luck!!!!

I have a few universities in mind to apply -

  1. University of Toronto
  2. York
  3. Nipissing
  4. Western
  5. Queen's
  6. McMaster

Should I apply to more? Which one should I apply? I am super eager to enter the program and I failed once, failing twice is not allowed!

Feel Free to give me suggestions or ask questions! Here is a link I found online listing most of the second entry nursing programs.

Best wishes to everyone! Good Luck!

hi all,

i was accepted into u of t's program last week but i've yet to receive my official admissions package in the mail. can anyone tell me how long it takes to arrive?

thanks!

Hey everyone!

Does anyone know what hospital placements are possible for York or u of t's program? Does York offer placements in the downtown Toronto area (ex. Sick kids, Mount Sinai, Toronto general, etc)?

Did you call humber to confirm that you were conditionally accepted? Because I am in the exact same boat as you where it says "no decision" on my main page.

It says

1. Proof of Successful Completion of Current Academic Studies at University Level with an Overall Minimum Grade Point Average of 3.0 or 74%

under "Program Requirements Met Conditionally" TAB. I guess I have to email or call them find out if I am offered admission with this condition met since it still says "No Decision" under Status.

@jillbee My package arrived a week later. Not sure where you are situated in relation to U of T - I am just north of the city, so that would also be a factor. It's coming! :)

Hey! If you click on this image link, you'll be able to see how it's supposed to look like for a conditional offer. The program missing requirements does not confirm an offer, unfortunately. It's still early, so do not worry, they are doing rolling admissions.

Hello BlondeNurse25,

I was wondering what hospitals you can have placements at through York's program?

I just got an offer for Western accelerated! Check your portals! Also I e-mailed McMaster and they said they're hoping offers will be out in the next few weeks!

I also got accepted to the western compressed program!!

Congrats fkbes and slh2016! Would you mind sharing your gpa?

Not at all! My overall GPA is 86.7/100.
