I know it's early, but let's get a thread going. 2015-hopefuls, share your thoughts, concerns, questions, and experiences here!
fueledbyju, I had a similar issue with Humber and their second entry program. I had to argue with the college for myself. They said that I didn't have the High school English pre-req, because based on my high school transcripts from over ten years ago I didn't satisfy the grades. I responded with "I have two diplomas, two degrees, and have been a high school TEACHER for five years....are you honestly telling me that I don't satisfy the English requirements?". So I got into Humber!
Just call them on it, and argue your point!
Anyone going to York know why it says under "Conditions of Admissions" in my mail package it says "your offer of admission is contingent on your submission of proof of all degrees/diplomas earned. Please submit official transcrpits which show degrees and/or driplomas earned"?? I finished my third year at Brock this year but did not get a degree. Is this sentence just saying that IF you did get a degree you need to submit it? No where on OUAC or MyFile does is say that I had been given a conditional offer. Thanks!
does anybody know if york has a waitlist once the program is full?
If this year is like previous years than the waitlist for York started 2.5-3 weeks ago. York has always filled all external seats first, then when externals were filled sent out acceptances for all internal seats (there are only 30 so that takes approx. less than 1 week). Then acceptances roll out from the waitlist and rejections roll out. If they're saying the program is full...then the waitlist has begun.

I am not really sure about how rural or northern nursing compares, because while some of the places I applied to were considered rural, they are still close to some bigger cities.
Northern Ontario I imagine you would do well, or in some of the really rural places. But that's not something I have any experience with and you would have to look into some of the other discussion boards that talk about rural/northern nursing.
