I know it's early, but let's get a thread going. 2015-hopefuls, share your thoughts, concerns, questions, and experiences here!
To those who accepted their York offer and who enrolled in courses yesterday...what exactly do they mean when we have to fill in a CPP, police check, mask fit and CPR? Are we supposed to complete all these and then book an appointment with Synergy before August? And what happens if I have had my mask fit test and CPR completed a year ago...do I have to redo it with Synergy? Thanks!!
@tdmah
Thanks for the response. I called and spoke with someone at Western. The acceptances will be updated on the student center at some point tomorrow (so if you have above an 86% average you should receive an acceptance tomorrow)
@fbuld87
I wouldn't be discouraged. If you read the thread from last year the initial cutoff for their final end of may acceptance was either 85 or 86% (can't fully remember) but by the end of the summer it went down to about 83.5% as they called people from the waitlist. My guess is if you don't receive an acceptance tomorrow you will be put on a waitlist and will receive an offer of acceptance in a couple weeks as other people decline their offers.
Hope this information helps everyone!!

WAIT to do all this. DO NOT do it before August! Your CPP is your clinical preparedness permit, you have to complete it so you can attend clinical. Police check, mask fit, etc is all apart of it. They will email you more info on it.
You should WAIT until at least August to get that all done because every time you book an appointment with Synergy, you'll be charged $36. If you wait until August, you won't have to renew anything again until next August, so you'll only pay that appointment fee twice. If you do even one of those things earlier, you'll have to pay that fee 3-4 times, instead of just twice (and also means you'll have to pay to renew, for example, your CPR course more often)! That $36 fee adds up, especially on top of scrubs, stethoscope, etc. Don't be too eager, you have until October to complete your CPP in first semester. Save your money!!
The one thing you can get done earlier is your titres for MMR, Hep B, and Varicella, since you don't have to renew those (despite the confusing instructions on the CPP, you need titres for ALL of those, even if you have proof of immunization). And you will have to renew your CPR and mask fit test...but wait. York does CPR and MFT on site as well in August and September. If you live in Toronto it might be good to send your police check request sometime in August to be safe.
I know this might be confusing because I can't explain it all right now but trust me, I've been through this ordeal.
Wow, that's quite unfortunate for me if that's the case. Just missed the cutoff with a 85.5% average.Hopefully I'll have better luck getting into U of T..
I'm in the same boat. I'm at 85.1%, AND I'm still finishing up Anatomy & Physiology online. So I don't see myself getting into Western this year unfortunately.
Nope didn't call York. I guess I'll wait out May and then call. I emailed before and the lady said that "no decision yet" is a good thing at this point.
so if we still have "no decision yet" on our status right now, does that mean our chances of getting in are pretty high? im getting so desperate now as ive already gotten rejected to a few schools

I was told that the initial cutoff for early acceptance was 88%. Anyone above this would have received an offer very early. After a few weeks, Western stopped giving acceptances until their next big round of offers would go out (which is coming up in the next few days). Even if you are above the current cutoff, you won't receive an offer until their biggest round of offers goes out. I wouldn't be too concerned if I were you... it looks like you have a very good chance of getting into Western! :)
