Ontario Second-Entry Nursing (2015)

I know it's early, but let's get a thread going. 2015-hopefuls, share your thoughts, concerns, questions, and experiences here!

Thank you Anon101 and PillsNPotions for your helpful replies! =)

PillsNPotions will you be attending Trent for sure and will you be living on campus?

I received that Trent package and it had info regarding expenses, it'll be close to 20 grand per year =( I want to live on campus mainly to make friends and form study groups so we can help each other out but I'd rather live off campus rent a place and save money. I don't know what to do.

Hey accnursing!

I have accepted an offer to Trent for the time being. If I do end up in Peterborough, I will be living off campus, but am also hoping to form study groups within the program! I think although I will be off campus it will be easy to meet people since it is a relatively small program. There is a Facebook group if you haven't already joined it, search Trent Compressed Nursing 2015-2017 :)

You're welcome :). I'll actually be attending U of T, but living on campus is definitely expensive at any school. I would say try to find other Trent students to room with and rent a place close to school. Good luck!

I was accepted to U of T last week! Very excited! However, I do not believe I am unable to attend school come September for personal reasons. Does anyone know if deferring the offer a year is available? I know it's probably a long shot!

I know someone who deferred for U of T nursing in the past. So it might still be possible, best to call/email and ask.

I went to Trent. PLENTY of places to live around the campus (or south towards the town). Tons of houses and off-campus rez's on Water and George St. I lived in one place. It was a two bedroom apartment (lived with someone else) for 480/month each + bills. Not bad

has anyone heard back from York lately?

Nope still waiting

also still waiting...

Don't get too discouraged if you haven't heard back from your top choice!

I am currently at U of T in the second entry program (accepted last year) and I was accepted off the waitlist! I was waitlisted at the end of June, and they were giving out acceptances until that point as well.

Hang in there, guys!

Thanks!

Missed the deadline for UofT. Waiting on York.

You gave me hope sparklerr!☺️ Do you mind sharing your gpa? And what do they look? Is it the final year, the cumulative gpa, the prerequisites grades and the 250 words letter? Because I calculated my final year with the Uoft calculator and it gave me 3.46. I have good grades in the prerequisites like lots of A, but im still waiting.
