Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2021

Published

Hey everyone!

I haven't seen a post for Fall 2021 yet so here it is!

My choices are:

1. UofT

2. McMaster

3. Nipissing SPP

I started my OUAC application in November and now trying to work on the supplemental packages. My CASPer Test is on January 12, 2021.

I need to take Anatomy and Physio course(s) however, I'm having a hard time figuring out what would satisfy the requirements from all three universities. My options so far are:

1. Take CBLG 101 in Winter and CBLG 111 in Spring at Ryerson. However final grade will be in June; hoping that's fine.  This satisfies all 3 unis

2. Take SCS 2159 in Winter from UofT which is enough for UofT and McMaster but not for Nipissing. I have to take an Anatomy course just for Nip.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from back home, been working as an RECE in Toronto the last 8 years, have a Diploma in Nonprofit Management at Ryerson. My cGPA is 3.55 which I'm worried about. Lots of extra curricular activities from university and volunteering here in Toronto.  I still have to compute the GPA for the last two years.

I requested WES to send my transcripts to Nip and McMaster and asked my old uni to send to UofT.

It's been an expensive application so far; really hoping I get in! Looking forward to chatting with you all and sharing our experiences.

Same! No idea why it changed and what it means. When did you submit your application?

Also, when you click "Do I Have Any Missing Requirements?" does it show you that you are missing "Proof of Successful Completion of Current Academic Studies at University Level with an Overall Minimum Grade Point Average of 3.0 or 74%"? My transcripts were only recently sent so I wonder if they just have not been processed yet?

I submitted my application on Feb. 24 and since then it has been saying no decision but today it changed to not available yet like I wish they could already just tell us so I can know what to do next in life. Mine says no requirements are missing. If you just submitted your transcripts then they probably have not gotten to your application yet because mine said that to for a while when I first applied.

Also does anyone know if Humber sent out more acceptances after the first round of acceptances?

I chatted someone in reddit who got accepted 2 weeks after the first round of acceptances. But that person turned it down lmao

I just submitted my application to Humber, because I am freaking out.

Any UofT acceptances today?

Not to my knowledge yet! Maybe a little later today, or those that have maybe heard back haven't said anything yet.

I don't know this with 100% certainty so please take this with  a grain of salt, but I think I remember someone suggesting that the Humber second entry program is already full.

Are a lot of people still waiting on Humbers acceptance just curious? I think more acceptance will come after May 1st when people decline their offers

Honestly like someone before said, more offers will probably come out in May once people start accepting offers elsewhere. Stay hopeful!

I declined my offer from Humber yesterday, and I'm sure others might in the coming months as acceptances from U of T and Western roll out. It's not too late!

I am already in, and I've been in contact with many people who has received offers from Humber. Most of them have already declined and are planning to decline due to preferences over other schools. Many are also anxious about going to Humber because it is technically in a college and not in a University setting. So, I would say don't lose hope yet. There's still a chance, but keep in mind, the class size for the program is small, chances of getting in were already slim from the start.

Hey! I'm in the same boat, but just wrote my exam and thinking I'll be getting like a low-mid 70 in one of them... any chance you know what the conditional offer is? I have seen people post that they need at least a B- in their physiology pre req, just wondering is social sciences is the same (since in the application, you could technically submit a pre req that was minimum 60%).

Hey, my offer is conditional upon maintaining a B+ average in my final year and a 60% in all of my outstanding prereqs (which is social science for me).

Ahhh awesome, that makes me feel a lot less stressed haha! Thank you for letting me know and congrats!
