Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2021
It's definitely a gamble with only having finished your second year. I would double check the credit requirements for both schools to make sure you are eligible. If you are, then it's completely up to your financial situation and if applying is feasible for you. Each application offers you 3 school choices, and your GPA makes you competitive for both schools. Completely up to you of course, but I personally would try applying if money isn't an issue (if I'm remembering correctly, the application was $130 plus CASPer which was another $60). Last year I know Queen's gave early acceptances over the December/January holiday break. Other than that, most of the applicants for the 2021/2022 admissions cycle didn't hear until May and/or June.

Ontario BScN Accelerated Program Fall 2022
Hi everyone! I just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. My name is Taylar and I'm currently in my first year of the accelerated McMaster nursing program. I remember how overwhelming it was being in your position last year, so if anyone has any questions about the process of nursing school applications, school, or anything in general, feel free to let me know! Fingers crossed for everyone ?

From what I've seen so far, no. I'm not sure if they haven't released information about the scholarships for 2021-2022, but right now there are very few scholarships available and none are applicable to nursing students.

For those who got accepted to UofT and are receiving financial aid from the university, were you informed of your amount for financial aid with your admission offer, or did you have to accept the offer to find out if you're getting any financial aid? I've been accepted to Mac and I plan to go there, but if I do get accepted to UofT me switching plans to go there would depend on any offered financial aid. Any insight would be super appreciated, thanks!

Im sorry to hear from those who got rejections from UofT today ? I do wonder if they’re only releasing rejections today or acceptances as well.

I had the hardest time with this a couple of weekends ago. It's very inconsistent what CPR course McMaster seems to want and which ones are offered. But I think it's just because they seemed to have gone away from calling it BLS/HCP and now most of the companies refer to the course as CPR Level C with AED. That's how I've interpreted it. I signed up for a blended course in Burlington since it's local for me, just got the link for the online portion of the course when this was posted.

The UofT PA program is insanely competitive (pretty much all PA programs are right now because they're small programs with high demand in the cities - especially hospitals), unfortunately a 3.7 likely won't get you in unless you've got stellar ECs and great references. Try to stay patient for nursing! I know waiting is awful, it's so incredibly frustrating to be already into June and not having an idea of where you're going and where you stand with your applications ?

Humber's program seems great but it wasn't my top choice. On the weekend got accepted to my number 1 which was Mac and I plan to go there ? McMaster! Queen's and Western to my understanding have smaller programs compared to other accelerated programs, so don't get too discouraged. Where did you apply and where are you still waiting on?

Not sure about Mac, but UofT has been following that trend for a few years now from what I've heard.

To my understanding, a few students have heard in June but I'm anticipating a large number of responses from UofT one of these Friday's, similar to this past weekend for Western and Mac.

For anyone holding out for Humber, there will be a spot opening as I will be declining my offer.

I have yet to hear anything after receiving an acceptance. We will probably hear in the next week or so, as enrollment announcements should also be coming out by June 11.

I would say it's challenging from the perspective that you're judged solely on your grades, so if you have a lower GPA and were hoping to make your application shine through ECs, admissions don't favor your application. Additionally, because they're somewhat of a first-come-first-serve basis, applications submitted later are also disadvantaged. I would say if you're a high GPA candidate and you apply early, it's a lot easier to get in compared to other similar programs. otherwise, it's not as easy to get into because of how competitive it is.

I've taken it 4 times so a lot of my confidence comes from experience and practice, but here's a few tips: - review example CASPer question answers online, this gave me so much insight on how to properly answer questions - practice typing quickly if you're not already able to do so - try to not take any side too preferentially, the idea of the CASPer is to really show that you understand both sides of the story and how to empathize with either party - do your research on the test to really understand it
