  1. You can take any of the prep semester courses either in Humber this September/ through UNB online this Summer. There's an application due June 1 which you need to be in contact with Humber if you want to opt for the UNB online. I think they need to approve it first before you enroll online. Humber can probably help direct you to courses equivalent to the ones required for prep sem. Or you can probably just look at UNB online for course that have the similar name. 2. No, I declined mine! Goodluck to you, hope you get in!!
  3. It was for me for the longest time. People from the 2nd entry nursing chat too had theirs like that before they got an offer... Not sure if it also applies to internal applications tho
  4. Give it time, a bunch of people including myself had offers that just expired 3 days ago. Mine was also under consideration for more than a month before I got my offer. I think it's likely you'll get accepted to York because they just have so many spots to fill. Best of luck!!
  5. That's a big ooff Nipissing! ?
  6. Hey I recently chose UNB-Humber over York. From what I gathered so far about their program, UNB-Humber has less academic workload over other schools since they are more clinical driven. You get to experience every unit of the hospitals. You get to choose/rank places where you want to do it all over the GTA. It is very placement heavy as you'll get two 12 hour shifts/week, so you'll definitely get to accumulate more experience in their program. Scrubs and Littman stethoscope are given for free. The program is a semester longer than most compressed nursing programs tho. They do have a very high NCLEX pass rates and low dropout rates. Class sizes are small. Lastly, you get the opportunity to be the last class to get a degree from a place you are probably never going to visit ? I attached the brochure of the program below. Hope that helps! If you want to ask a current student who is going there, we have someone in our cohort gc. Message me if you're interested in joining. SecondEntryBrochure.pdf
  7. Sorry to break it to you. But that's only for the prep semester not the actual program itself. Humber would be around 22k (20k if you don't include the prep sem). Humber pdf.pdf
  8. Yes. I don't plan on going to nipissing but I love how they state that I'm a desirable candidate and that they would have offered me an admission if only the program wasn't full. ? Shoutout to Nipissing for being courteous to their applicants! ?
  9. No, it didn't. I still have my offer in York on hand which I will let expire.
  10. Oh hey, I received offers on both schools! I chose to accept Humber because I think it’s the better option between the two. I have only heard good things about their UNB program. From what I gathered in terms of comparing it with York, Humber has good placement partners, less academic workload (it doesn’t require you to do 15-18 credits per sem since it is more clinical driven), higher NCLEX pass rates (guarantees you becoming an RN), less dropout rates (Going to york is probably exhaustive as their NCLEX attempters are way way less than their 170 class size), cheaper tuition (you’ll save a few thousand bucks with Humber), offers free nursing scrubs and Littman stethoscope(not sure if York does the same), less prone to strikes (that 2018 york strike tho), and smaller class size (it may give you an advantage in getting references for grad school). Plus, there is that special feeling to be part of that last University of New Brunswick class in Humber (it makes you feel part of history LOL).
  11. I also just got an offer from York. LOL I'll be declining it tho. I don't wanna be there anymore.
  12. York's 2nd entry program course load is a bit much to handle from what I know. First semester has 18 credits plus placements, you would really need to manage your time very very well if you plan to survive in the program. Also, coming from York student (not a Nursing student there btw), York has a bad reputation for an institution. Administration is just awful, and there's a huge chance that you would experience a strike that can last for a very long time which may affect your plans to graduate on time.
  13. Ooof were you able to accept it before it was retracted? I wonder if that will guarantee you a place in the program ? I hope you guys will get in soon!
  14. Have you received an offer regarding the program?
  15. I am already in, and I've been in contact with many people who has received offers from Humber. Most of them have already declined and are planning to decline due to preferences over other schools. Many are also anxious about going to Humber because it is technically in a college and not in a University setting. So, I would say don't lose hope yet. There's still a chance, but keep in mind, the class size for the program is small, chances of getting in were already slim from the start.
