Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2021

Published

Hey everyone!

I haven't seen a post for Fall 2021 yet so here it is!

My choices are:

1. UofT

2. McMaster

3. Nipissing SPP

I started my OUAC application in November and now trying to work on the supplemental packages. My CASPer Test is on January 12, 2021.

I need to take Anatomy and Physio course(s) however, I'm having a hard time figuring out what would satisfy the requirements from all three universities. My options so far are:

1. Take CBLG 101 in Winter and CBLG 111 in Spring at Ryerson. However final grade will be in June; hoping that's fine.  This satisfies all 3 unis

2. Take SCS 2159 in Winter from UofT which is enough for UofT and McMaster but not for Nipissing. I have to take an Anatomy course just for Nip.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from back home, been working as an RECE in Toronto the last 8 years, have a Diploma in Nonprofit Management at Ryerson. My cGPA is 3.55 which I'm worried about. Lots of extra curricular activities from university and volunteering here in Toronto.  I still have to compute the GPA for the last two years.

I requested WES to send my transcripts to Nip and McMaster and asked my old uni to send to UofT.

It's been an expensive application so far; really hoping I get in! Looking forward to chatting with you all and sharing our experiences.

Has anyone heard back from UofT about the June 1st deposit deadline? I'm worried that mine is actually due today and not June 1st

Congratulations!! Do you mind sharing what your final year GPA was like?
My Winter 2021 marks just came out this week, so I was wondering how UofT makes their decisions - is it reviewed by highest GPA first? I’m so nervous!!

Hey everyone update about UofT deposits! We have until June 1st to pay the deposit they will manually adjust it to June 1st after the date on ACORN has passed so do not worry if you missed the date online yet, follow the acceptance letter. Regarding the convenience fee, I brought up the difference in the % and am talking to them now! We do have to follow directions online and pay via credit card though. Hope this helps everyone out a bit

Also congrats to everyone who has gotten in today!

Hey guys!! Just received my acceptance to UofT!! So excited and super relieved because it's the only school I applied too!! Can't wait to meet everyone ?

Good luck to everyone still waiting!!

Thank you so much! I actually completed my undergrad in April 2020. My final GPA was a 3.7/3.8, about 85% overall! In all honesty, I am not sure if it is reviewed by the highest GPA's first. I would lean towards not exactly, seeing as I have read a few other people who got accepted with similar GPA's as me. I think what it comes down to is of course your references and supplementary application (personal statement, experience, etc.) ? which is awesome -- as others have said, its nice that they take a holistic approach and look at the whole picture. Have faith! I know how nerve wracking it can be... it is so hard to stay patient and hopeful but as everyone else has said there is so much time (~8-9 weeks left for rolling acceptances). You got this!

I think in the acceptance letter they just forgot to update the convenience fee % to match the increase ^.

Does U of T send out acceptances all at once on a Friday or do they send it throughout the day?

Hey everyone,
I accepted the UfT offer about a week ago through OUAC, but I'm not sure is there anything else we need to do by today? It doesn't seem like it but I'm a little nervous I'm missing something (esp after the panic of thinking the 500$ fee was due today!).
Thanks!

As long as you have accepted you don't have to do anything today!

Nope, I don't think so. Based on this https://bloomberg.nursing.utoronto.ca/current-students/new-bscn-student/, you should be good as long as you pay the $500 by the date outlined in your letter.
