Hey everyone!
I haven't seen a post for Fall 2021 yet so here it is!
My choices are:
1. UofT
2. McMaster
3. Nipissing SPP
I started my OUAC application in November and now trying to work on the supplemental packages. My CASPer Test is on January 12, 2021.
I need to take Anatomy and Physio course(s) however, I'm having a hard time figuring out what would satisfy the requirements from all three universities. My options so far are:
1. Take CBLG 101 in Winter and CBLG 111 in Spring at Ryerson. However final grade will be in June; hoping that's fine. This satisfies all 3 unis
2. Take SCS 2159 in Winter from UofT which is enough for UofT and McMaster but not for Nipissing. I have to take an Anatomy course just for Nip.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from back home, been working as an RECE in Toronto the last 8 years, have a Diploma in Nonprofit Management at Ryerson. My cGPA is 3.55 which I'm worried about. Lots of extra curricular activities from university and volunteering here in Toronto. I still have to compute the GPA for the last two years.
I requested WES to send my transcripts to Nip and McMaster and asked my old uni to send to UofT.
It's been an expensive application so far; really hoping I get in! Looking forward to chatting with you all and sharing our experiences.
I've heard before somewhere that for Mac it's 80% grades, 20% Casper not sure if that's true? Pretty worried for both Mac and York cause I think my Casper went not that great, hopefully my GPA is good enough (it's at 3.84 for my last 20 courses)... hate waiting but also terrified of what I would do if I didn't get accepted anywhere since I don't know what I really could improve drastically by next year (graduated 2020, took this past year to finish up prereqs as a continuing student). Good luck to everyone still waiting!

Hey! I know I booked mine through Toronto CPR because I found it hard to find a course that had both the BLS and the level C certification. Through this it said the BLS is a 1 year certification (which I think is why we need to renew yearly) and then level C certification lasts 3 years.

OK, that makes a lot more sense! May I ask why you decided to book now? aka are spots filling up quickly for July certification?
Hello everyone! I just would like some advice. So I know that it's still up in the air if classes are going to be in person, so I have 2 options for next year:
1) I live at home and commute 1 hour and 30 minutes (which would mean leaving my house at 4:45am to make it downtown for 7am clinical) OR
2) Rent a place in toronto
Rent is super expensive so IDK if its worth spending minimum a grand just to go to clinical/school 3x a week. But, if I live at home, I have to wake up SO early 3x a week to make it on the GO train....
Thoughts?

So UofT wants it done during July. I looked on some of the websites they recommended but found they were a bit confusing. I have a friend currently in nursing at McMaster and she does it through there every year. They only had one date open for July within places I was looking to go so I guess I impulsively booked it LOL. Although I wanted to have it booked and out of the way so I can focus on my A&P that I have to finish by June.

Hey! I know for me my commute is kind of similar and I've done this in the past for other schools downtown. Especially with classes being up in the air, I think I am going to commute downtown and try it out. I've heard of a lot of people doing this, and although it does suck it is doable. It just depends on your priorities and other life commitments you have, as well as if you can financially afford to rent downtown since it is super expensive.

I'm going through the same dilemma! My commute downtown is about an hour and 20 mins, and I currently work at Toronto General hospital. I have to take the go train at about 5:40am (wake up at 5am) to make it for a 7am shift, but honestly for me personally, the commute is not bad. I usually study or read on the train, and waking up early is definitely annoying but you just have to manage your time. Also, I heard for UofT that the clinicals are currently only 1-2x per week? So it might be easier to just do that if they're not going to be 3x a week when we first start. Not sure tho! Sorry if this wasn't helpful but I thought I'd go ahead and mention that for me personally, commuting downtown isn't that bad!
