Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2021

Published

Hey everyone!

I haven't seen a post for Fall 2021 yet so here it is!

My choices are:

1. UofT

2. McMaster

3. Nipissing SPP

I started my OUAC application in November and now trying to work on the supplemental packages. My CASPer Test is on January 12, 2021.

I need to take Anatomy and Physio course(s) however, I'm having a hard time figuring out what would satisfy the requirements from all three universities. My options so far are:

1. Take CBLG 101 in Winter and CBLG 111 in Spring at Ryerson. However final grade will be in June; hoping that's fine.  This satisfies all 3 unis

2. Take SCS 2159 in Winter from UofT which is enough for UofT and McMaster but not for Nipissing. I have to take an Anatomy course just for Nip.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from back home, been working as an RECE in Toronto the last 8 years, have a Diploma in Nonprofit Management at Ryerson. My cGPA is 3.55 which I'm worried about. Lots of extra curricular activities from university and volunteering here in Toronto.  I still have to compute the GPA for the last two years.

I requested WES to send my transcripts to Nip and McMaster and asked my old uni to send to UofT.

It's been an expensive application so far; really hoping I get in! Looking forward to chatting with you all and sharing our experiences.

Hi everyone,

I know that you can accept an offer and still receive acceptances to other schools (change your mind later on essentially). I thought I read somewhere there was a $500 non-refundable deposit that was required when you accepted an offer. I just accepted my offer to York (but waiting for UofT and Mac) so I was wondering if anyone knew if that fee was true, and if so if that is the correct amount I will be owing!

Thank you! Best of luck to you all ?

I also accept offer last week but still now I don't get anything about booking class or deposit money.

My uOttawa application just changed to "refused" I wonder if that's because I started asking questions about the program and emailed admission evaluation. They responded today that "all concerned students were already advise (sic!) about this matter", while I as an applicant wasn't advised of anything.

Anyway, at least I can definitely postpone my exams which is actually a good thing!

Honestly you dodged a bullet! I’ve heard terrible things in terms of UOttawa nursing. It’s unorganized and horribly structured. I wouldn’t want to endure this through nursing school.

Nursing school is already difficult to begin with. Don’t need added stress!

wishing you all the best!!

Here's to hoping we hear from Nipissing soon!

Right! I’ve been waiting for this it seems so close now

I hope to hear from Nipissing soon too. Does anyone know how many applications they get? It’s my first choice.

I am not too sure about that, but someone else in another forum said this:

"Nipissing SPP actually opened up more spots for this year, and from what I have overheard, our program saw a decrease in applications"

I also have heard they pretty much have their 2021 cohort picked out and are just waiting to send out the acceptances, so best of luck to all?

I hope everyone's doing well hanging in there! ? I wanted to ask if anyone knew when humber will be sending out acceptances this year?

I'm wondering this too!! It's been nearly a month since it opened ... maybe (hopefully) they'll come out this week? The waiting is so painful ??

It is suprising you mention this because the exact same thing happened to me I went from being waitisted to refused a day after I emailed admissions questioning their evaluation and why I was waitlisted before the program even closed.

Oh that's really interesting. When was this? I am now thinking they do this on purpose...

I really don’t think Ottawa should get away with this. Wasting students’ time and resources isn’t OK. Not at all surprised because of its blatant downfall recently

I sent them an email directly asking if they refused my application because I wasn't a qualified canidate or because they are not even planning to run a program. And if it's the first reason, then how many people were accepted, what was their GPA cut off and when and what kind of program will they start. Because if they can't provide any info, then they should return app money to everyone who applied. I've heard from a friend that it's about 3k applicants. If it's $100 each.... and everyone is refused because program isn't gonna start... that's freakin money laundering!

Thanks! I surely won't apply to uOttawa for anything now.

Hi Everyone!

Congrats to those who have been offered admissions already! I received an offer from Western on the 11th. I also applied to McMaster but my application still says pending. Just wondering if anyone else’s mosaic site shows this too??

Thanks and good luck!!

Has anyone that's applied to Trent heard back yet?

To those who received an acceptance to Western, what was your sub-GPA?
