Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2021

Published

Hey everyone!

I haven't seen a post for Fall 2021 yet so here it is!

My choices are:

1. UofT

2. McMaster

3. Nipissing SPP

I started my OUAC application in November and now trying to work on the supplemental packages. My CASPer Test is on January 12, 2021.

I need to take Anatomy and Physio course(s) however, I'm having a hard time figuring out what would satisfy the requirements from all three universities. My options so far are:

1. Take CBLG 101 in Winter and CBLG 111 in Spring at Ryerson. However final grade will be in June; hoping that's fine.  This satisfies all 3 unis

2. Take SCS 2159 in Winter from UofT which is enough for UofT and McMaster but not for Nipissing. I have to take an Anatomy course just for Nip.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from back home, been working as an RECE in Toronto the last 8 years, have a Diploma in Nonprofit Management at Ryerson. My cGPA is 3.55 which I'm worried about. Lots of extra curricular activities from university and volunteering here in Toronto.  I still have to compute the GPA for the last two years.

I requested WES to send my transcripts to Nip and McMaster and asked my old uni to send to UofT.

It's been an expensive application so far; really hoping I get in! Looking forward to chatting with you all and sharing our experiences.

Has anyone that's applied to Trent heard back yet?

Hi Everyone!

Congrats to those who have been offered admissions already! I received an offer from Western on the 11th. I also applied to McMaster but my application still says pending. Just wondering if anyone else’s mosaic site shows this too??

Thanks and good luck!!

If you don't mind me asking, what was your sub-GPA?

My sub GPA was around a 3.87!

When are nipissing spp offers coming out again? Did anyone get an answer to this from the admissions team. It's so hard waiting?. Good luck to everyone who applied!!

The supplementary application says that they should be sending out acceptances by April

Same here

Hi Everyone!

Congrats to everybody who has gotten accepted, and for those waiting on responses - best of luck to you!

I’ve only applied to second entry at York and U of T. I’m kinda scared I’m not going to get in anywhere because a few friends of mine mentioned getting acceptances in Feb. to York with B+ GPAs in previous years. However, I think they’ve just gotten to my application as it’s just been listed as under consideration.

Any ideas as to what the average is looking like this year? For those who have gotten in at York - if you don’t me asking where are your GPAs around?

hey there! honestly hang in there because both are competitive schools but I'm sure you'll get in!! my GPA's a bit lower but I think I either somehow aced the casper or maybe it has to do with being an internal applicant?? but my cgpa is a 3.3ish and GPA for last two years is a 3.7/3.8!! I haven't heard back from any other school yet though. I also applied to humber when I heard it opened!! if you want, I'd also suggest applying to humber as another option in the GTA if that's what you're looking for!! good luck!! ?

Does anyone know how many people each school accepts on average?

Im not quite sure each school is a bit different. You can kind of gauge it by looking at the NCLEX pass rate posted online as it shows you how many student write it each year. I can post whats available for 2019 so you can check it out. I think each school usually falls somewhere between 40-100 students.
