Hey everyone!
I haven't seen a post for Fall 2021 yet so here it is!
My choices are:
1. UofT
2. McMaster
3. Nipissing SPP
I started my OUAC application in November and now trying to work on the supplemental packages. My CASPer Test is on January 12, 2021.
I need to take Anatomy and Physio course(s) however, I'm having a hard time figuring out what would satisfy the requirements from all three universities. My options so far are:
1. Take CBLG 101 in Winter and CBLG 111 in Spring at Ryerson. However final grade will be in June; hoping that's fine. This satisfies all 3 unis
2. Take SCS 2159 in Winter from UofT which is enough for UofT and McMaster but not for Nipissing. I have to take an Anatomy course just for Nip.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from back home, been working as an RECE in Toronto the last 8 years, have a Diploma in Nonprofit Management at Ryerson. My cGPA is 3.55 which I'm worried about. Lots of extra curricular activities from university and volunteering here in Toronto. I still have to compute the GPA for the last two years.
I requested WES to send my transcripts to Nip and McMaster and asked my old uni to send to UofT.
It's been an expensive application so far; really hoping I get in! Looking forward to chatting with you all and sharing our experiences.

I haven't heard back from any other school yet though. I also applied to humber when I heard it opened!! if you want, I'd also suggest applying to humber as another option in the GTA if that's what you're looking for!! good luck!! ?
Wait I just took in your username - is that a reference to Bikini Bottom?! Do we know each other LOL?! And I’m sure you’ll get into your other choices as well ?

Congrats to everybody who has gotten accepted, and for those waiting on responses - best of luck to you!
I’ve only applied to second entry at York and U of T. I’m kinda scared I’m not going to get in anywhere because a few friends of mine mentioned getting acceptances in Feb. to York with B+ GPAs in previous years. However, I think they’ve just gotten to my application as it’s just been listed as under consideration.
Any ideas as to what the average is looking like this year? For those who have gotten in at York - if you don’t me asking where are your GPAs around?
Hey can I ask when you applied to York/wrote your casper? I'm still waiting to hear back from York. I also only applied to York and UofT (which I know haven't started sending out offers yet) but I didn't know York was rolling admissions and I applied right at the end so just trying to gauge when they will finally get to my application.

Hi, I applied the very last day I think for OUAC 105 and did my Casper in mid January around the 15th I believe. I have also been waiting for my application to get reviewed - so hopefully yours will be looked over soon :)

I was really worried I bombed the Casper LOL because a few friends of mine got in previous years w/ early acceptances around the same GPA. I didn’t apply to Humber just because I thought I would get into York for sure (but their admissions committee is stressing me out). I guess within a few days we’ll find out if we might be at York together!
dude OMG don't even worry about it then! you have a very competitive GPA and I'm sure you're going to get in!! I think the next round of offers should be coming out soon honestly! but I know how hard it is waiting ? you got this!

hey guys I don't want to start anything LOL im just genuinely curious,
Do nursing schools give a slight advantage to male applicants (since majority of the schools are about 90% female)?
I know some American schools do since they need a certain number of male nursing students for the program.

LOL don't worry, you're not starting anything! That's a fair question. I guess I would think that, even if they didn't need to maintain a certain % of male students per year, being male might set you apart from the rest while they're sifting through the applications since the majority of applicants are female. Although I doubt they'd ever come out and confirm anything about it unless it was standard policy (like the American schools) so it'll probably just remain speculation!

Yeah a few of my friends in nursing say there’s a slight advantage but the university would never announce it
thank you!

Thank you! I'm honestly not sure what my GPA is for my last 10 full credits since some of them were just taken for credit. Somewhere around 3.4-3.6 on a 4.3 scale. There is a strong upward trend though, which I think factored into my application.
