Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2021

Published

Hey everyone!

I haven't seen a post for Fall 2021 yet so here it is!

My choices are:

1. UofT

2. McMaster

3. Nipissing SPP

I started my OUAC application in November and now trying to work on the supplemental packages. My CASPer Test is on January 12, 2021.

I need to take Anatomy and Physio course(s) however, I'm having a hard time figuring out what would satisfy the requirements from all three universities. My options so far are:

1. Take CBLG 101 in Winter and CBLG 111 in Spring at Ryerson. However final grade will be in June; hoping that's fine.  This satisfies all 3 unis

2. Take SCS 2159 in Winter from UofT which is enough for UofT and McMaster but not for Nipissing. I have to take an Anatomy course just for Nip.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from back home, been working as an RECE in Toronto the last 8 years, have a Diploma in Nonprofit Management at Ryerson. My cGPA is 3.55 which I'm worried about. Lots of extra curricular activities from university and volunteering here in Toronto.  I still have to compute the GPA for the last two years.

I requested WES to send my transcripts to Nip and McMaster and asked my old uni to send to UofT.

It's been an expensive application so far; really hoping I get in! Looking forward to chatting with you all and sharing our experiences.

I was looking at my York application today and it went from "No decision yet" to "No decision yet - currently under consideration". Does anybody know what this means?

Mine shows the same thing! I think they're looking at our applications right now I guess? Fingers crossed hehe

Can I ask whether you're done all your prerequisites? Also, when you did your casper? Just trying to gauge when they will reach my application LOL

I'm just completing the Microbiology prerequisite right now and I did the casper test on Jan 12!

Yep that’s it! Mine changed to that about a week before I got my offer.

This gives me hope! Thank you for the input ?

K I did my casper in Feb. (But they do have the marks for it already) and am also completing Microbiology at York atm. Heres hoping they get to my application soon too ?

My uOttawa application just changed to "refused" I wonder if that's because I started asking questions about the program and emailed admission evaluation. They responded today that "all concerned students were already advise (sic!) about this matter", while I as an applicant wasn't advised of anything.

Anyway, at least I can definitely postpone my exams which is actually a good thing!

When does UofT send out decisions? Is it rolling admissions?

They sent an email out awhile back saying "Admission decisions will be issued in many different stages on an on-going basis from early April until the end of June"

It is suprising you mention this because the exact same thing happened to me I went from being waitisted to refused a day after I emailed admissions questioning their evaluation and why I was waitlisted before the program even closed.

Anyone in this stage of status being "No decision yet - currently under consideration" on the Yorku myfile recieve acceptances this week?

Hi everyone,

I know that you can accept an offer and still receive acceptances to other schools (change your mind later on essentially). I thought I read somewhere there was a $500 non-refundable deposit that was required when you accepted an offer. I just accepted my offer to York (but waiting for UofT and Mac) so I was wondering if anyone knew if that fee was true, and if so if that is the correct amount I will be owing!

Thank you! Best of luck to you all :)

I really don’t think Ottawa should get away with this. Wasting students’ time and resources isn’t OK. Not at all surprised because of its blatant downfall recently

Kind of crazy we spent money applying and they literally weren't forthcoming with their application at all
