Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2021

World Canada CA Programs

Published

Hey everyone!

I haven't seen a post for Fall 2021 yet so here it is!

My choices are:

1. UofT

2. McMaster

3. Nipissing SPP

I started my OUAC application in November and now trying to work on the supplemental packages. My CASPer Test is on January 12, 2021.

I need to take Anatomy and Physio course(s) however, I'm having a hard time figuring out what would satisfy the requirements from all three universities. My options so far are:

1. Take CBLG 101 in Winter and CBLG 111 in Spring at Ryerson. However final grade will be in June; hoping that's fine.  This satisfies all 3 unis

2. Take SCS 2159 in Winter from UofT which is enough for UofT and McMaster but not for Nipissing. I have to take an Anatomy course just for Nip.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from back home, been working as an RECE in Toronto the last 8 years, have a Diploma in Nonprofit Management at Ryerson. My cGPA is 3.55 which I'm worried about. Lots of extra curricular activities from university and volunteering here in Toronto.  I still have to compute the GPA for the last two years.

I requested WES to send my transcripts to Nip and McMaster and asked my old uni to send to UofT.

It's been an expensive application so far; really hoping I get in! Looking forward to chatting with you all and sharing our experiences.

Hope everyone who took the CASPer today are okay! ?  One requirement down! Yayyyy!

Also, is anyone taking BIOL235 from Athabasca U? I'm starting on Feb1 and really hoping I finish it in May. I already requested transcript to be sent to the 3 unis I'm applying for, hopefully they get it in time.

so I have a question hahaha I told my family to be quiet while I take the casper test but my dad forgets I was writing the test and starts giggling during the middle of the test. I got up while they presented the written scenario (before they showed the three questions) and I forgot that they record you. I was wondering if that would affect my casper score as they may think I was cheating.

But other than that, I was pleased I actually answered all the questions hahaah x)

Did anyone apply to UOttawa for Spring 2021?

I did! you did too? Any changes in your admission file? Mine says "waiting list" but I thought they only start reviewing the applications in February, so I a surprised to see changes this early.

I did! It says I'm on the waiting list right now.

Hello everyone,

I am not sure if this is the right place to ask for advice but I really hope someone can help me out. I graduated from ryerson with a 2.5 GPA (I know its very low) 4 years ago. I was wondering if western or Mcmaster will accept me if I go back to ryerson and take non degree 10 uni credits and do really well in them? Will they take that into consideration even though I have already graduated? I ask about western and mcmaster because thats where I live. The reason why I have such low GPA is due to mental health issues plus my father suddenly passing away. My highschool grades are all high 90’s. I would really appreciate a reply. Thank you so much everyone.

Hey! I believe for Western their wording is "university-level" for the credits and prerequisites so I feel like non-degree credits could be accepted! I'm not 100% sure but you can email Rachel Curran ([email protected] ) if you have questions about uwo BScN or check out https://www.uwo.ca/fhs/nursing/undergrad/bscn_ctf/admission.html Rachel is an undergrad assistant and she's v nice!!

For mac, I see what you mean since it says "degree credits" on thier site but you can always email [email protected] to double check with them!

Good luck with your applications Tajana ?

Thank you so much for the detailed reply. I will definitely email them. I only asked because I want to be sure if they will even consider me for the program because I don't want to waste money and then not get in. I posted here to see if anyone has done something like this. Thanks again.

Hi everyone, I applied to Queen’s this year and I was wondering if I need to send them my highschool transcript?

Hey! I was wondering the same thing because I'm in my 4th year and I know Mac waived it. I emailed Callie at [email protected] and she said that it was still required for me so I had my hs email it in!

Okay thank you, I’ll contact her! My highschool’s phone system isn’t going through (LOL just my luck!) but I’ll keep trying.
