Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2021

Published

Hey everyone!

I haven't seen a post for Fall 2021 yet so here it is!

My choices are:

1. UofT

2. McMaster

3. Nipissing SPP

I started my OUAC application in November and now trying to work on the supplemental packages. My CASPer Test is on January 12, 2021.

I need to take Anatomy and Physio course(s) however, I'm having a hard time figuring out what would satisfy the requirements from all three universities. My options so far are:

1. Take CBLG 101 in Winter and CBLG 111 in Spring at Ryerson. However final grade will be in June; hoping that's fine.  This satisfies all 3 unis

2. Take SCS 2159 in Winter from UofT which is enough for UofT and McMaster but not for Nipissing. I have to take an Anatomy course just for Nip.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from back home, been working as an RECE in Toronto the last 8 years, have a Diploma in Nonprofit Management at Ryerson. My cGPA is 3.55 which I'm worried about. Lots of extra curricular activities from university and volunteering here in Toronto.  I still have to compute the GPA for the last two years.

I requested WES to send my transcripts to Nip and McMaster and asked my old uni to send to UofT.

It's been an expensive application so far; really hoping I get in! Looking forward to chatting with you all and sharing our experiences.

Hey guys! For anyone applying that took a course at Athabasca, how are you submitting your transcripts (specifically to uoft)?? Athabasca U says they are currently only emailing transcripts, but not sure who to email it to or if UofT would accept this??

Just confusing because they need our official ones and we also have to upload them ourselves? If anyone knows or did it already that would be great!

Thanks so much!

I need help with this too, it’s so confusing! Also if anyone knows how to send Athabasca transcripts To Nipissing University let me know please?

Hey everyone! I am a fourth year at the University of Waterloo and I have applied to only three accelerated nursing programs (UofT, McMaster, and Western), as I am applying to physical therapy programs as well. My sGPA is a 3.85 or a 89%. My experiences are average (volunteering at the hospital, volunteering at a physio clinic, being a student ambassador, and working part-time throughout my degree). I am writing my CASPer test on Jan 12th, but I also wrote it on the 8th of December for physio, so I hope it goes well! Good luck to everyone who has applied! ?

Hey! I emailed to ask and they to upload a copy of the official transcript and that's fine for now and then once you have final grade(s) to request an official one to be sent to enrolment services (they said Athabasca and other universities have the correct email to send it to)! (This is for UofT but not sure about Nipissing)

Thank you so much ! I’m a bit at ease now ?

hey everyone! new to allnurses :)) I'm in my 4th year at Western and I'm applying to UofT, Mac, Western and Queen's. I accidentally sent all my OUAC transcripts in November (with no fall 2020 grades) Would I have to send my transcripts out again either when my fall grades are in and/or after all my grades are in around April? thanks!

The CASPer website has a sample test that I've done to review the layout of the test! As well, I've been reviewing the practice questions off of BeMo Academic Consulting's website!

Just form the CASPer website and BeMo. I went through old threads here on AllNurses and found about U of Washington's BioEthics so I'm reading on that now.

Good luck to usssss! ?

Hello friends! Here to wish you all writing tomorrow good luck on the CASPer! I wrote mine in November and was suuuuper nervous for it. In fact for the first two questions or so, my hands were literally shaking as I was trying to type as fast as possible all while demanding my brain to think as hard as it could.  My advice to you all- do not be nervous! (seriously, it does nothing for you). I know you all have prepped enough for this test and even if you don't feel ready for it, just know that no one does, it's almost impossible to feel 'ready' for a type of test like this.  Just take a deep breath before starting it and trust your own capabilities ? If you have a question that you either don't finish or think of something you could have said after the fact, don't worry about it and just move on, there are lots of other questions to prove yourself with.

Me too! I wrote it in 2017 as well when I got accepted for Mac's 4 year. Definitely try to keep calm and don't think of it as a test. The time limit wasn't a problem for me, try not to think about writing a lot and instead focus on your honest answer. Keeping it short and to the point can help! Good luck to everyone writing it ?

Did anyone apply to UOttawa for Spring 2021?
