Hey everyone!
I haven't seen a post for Fall 2021 yet so here it is!
My choices are:
1. UofT
2. McMaster
3. Nipissing SPP
I started my OUAC application in November and now trying to work on the supplemental packages. My CASPer Test is on January 12, 2021.
I need to take Anatomy and Physio course(s) however, I'm having a hard time figuring out what would satisfy the requirements from all three universities. My options so far are:
1. Take CBLG 101 in Winter and CBLG 111 in Spring at Ryerson. However final grade will be in June; hoping that's fine. This satisfies all 3 unis
2. Take SCS 2159 in Winter from UofT which is enough for UofT and McMaster but not for Nipissing. I have to take an Anatomy course just for Nip.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from back home, been working as an RECE in Toronto the last 8 years, have a Diploma in Nonprofit Management at Ryerson. My cGPA is 3.55 which I'm worried about. Lots of extra curricular activities from university and volunteering here in Toronto. I still have to compute the GPA for the last two years.
I requested WES to send my transcripts to Nip and McMaster and asked my old uni to send to UofT.
It's been an expensive application so far; really hoping I get in! Looking forward to chatting with you all and sharing our experiences.

Whwrw specifically have you signed up and what is the name of the course? I have found that almost everyone that offers these courses has several that are HCP level and include BLS/AED. The issue is some are 4 days and include full first aid and others are 6 hours and just cover CPR w AED/BSL. I plan on e-mailing to confirm what is required, but just looking for insight from anyone who has any information.
Thanks!
I’m going to nipissing but I booked mine through the Red Cross website! It gives you the option to pick the BLS option. Look for: Standard FirstAid with BLS-HCP CPR ?!

Hey! I am still just on waitlist, haven't gotten a pending. I have seen that some people that had their status changed to pending have gotten an offer! So I hope that's the case for you ? Do you mind sharing the GPA you applied with?

I was also doing one of their prerequisite (Microbiology) at that time. After my Fall semester, my last 10 courses GPA was 3.74/4.00. For CASper, I am not confident with my performance because some of my answer was incomplete due to my typing skill. I am not sure how they weight CASper score tbh.
I just saw this! Thank you for the response ?
I think someone mentioned that its 80% GPA and 20% CASPer for Mac so I think it might be the same for York (I am not sure though)
It's so relieving to hear people getting accepted while still completing their undergrad! Most, if not all the people I know doing accelerated nursing already have a degree.
I definitely need to improve my typing speed LOL I will work on that this Summer.

I had the hardest time with this a couple of weekends ago. It's very inconsistent what CPR course McMaster seems to want and which ones are offered. But I think it's just because they seemed to have gone away from calling it BLS/HCP and now most of the companies refer to the course as CPR Level C with AED. That's how I've interpreted it. I signed up for a blended course in Burlington since it's local for me, just got the link for the online portion of the course when this was posted.
