Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2021

Published

Hey everyone!

I haven't seen a post for Fall 2021 yet so here it is!

My choices are:

1. UofT

2. McMaster

3. Nipissing SPP

I started my OUAC application in November and now trying to work on the supplemental packages. My CASPer Test is on January 12, 2021.

I need to take Anatomy and Physio course(s) however, I'm having a hard time figuring out what would satisfy the requirements from all three universities. My options so far are:

1. Take CBLG 101 in Winter and CBLG 111 in Spring at Ryerson. However final grade will be in June; hoping that's fine.  This satisfies all 3 unis

2. Take SCS 2159 in Winter from UofT which is enough for UofT and McMaster but not for Nipissing. I have to take an Anatomy course just for Nip.

I have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from back home, been working as an RECE in Toronto the last 8 years, have a Diploma in Nonprofit Management at Ryerson. My cGPA is 3.55 which I'm worried about. Lots of extra curricular activities from university and volunteering here in Toronto.  I still have to compute the GPA for the last two years.

I requested WES to send my transcripts to Nip and McMaster and asked my old uni to send to UofT.

It's been an expensive application so far; really hoping I get in! Looking forward to chatting with you all and sharing our experiences.

There is an official group called "york university second entry nursing: incoming class of 2021" but it only has a few people in it and my membership has been pending for a week

according to previous years they send it out on June 1

Hey if anyone is looking to book CPR courses, I know some of the websites are very confusing with their booking systems. For people in the GTA this is a simple site to book on if anyone is interested. They have opened a bunch more courses for July and the one thats required I believe is the standard first aid and BLS (correct me if I'm wrong please).

I also just got into York today, after being "under consideration" since March! I will most likely be declining the offer, so that will free up a space for someone else ?  Hope you all hear back from the schools you are waiting on soon!!

Congrats on your offer and thank you!!???I was wondering if you’re an internal or external applicant and if you mind sharing your GPA?

Where do you plan on accepting?

I’m an external applicant! My last year GPA was 3.88/4.0 on the UofT scale, but my cGPA is much lower around a 3.3/4.0 ?

I'm planning on accepting Queen's, but I'm still waiting to hear back from some schools!

Hi, I’ve been reading through the comments on this forum. And I’m an external applicant to the York second entry program. However, this entire time my application says “No decision made yet” whereas I’ve seen some people say there’s said “Under consideration”. Is this normal? Should I be worried? I’m not sure if it’s meant to switch or not.

Hi,

From what everyone has said so far before they were accepted their application said "no decision made yet-under consideration " for a period of time. But there are like 5 weeks left until everyone hears back so  I have no idea how it will play out moving forward.

Hi,

I said this because just a couple comments above mine somebody mentioned that there application said “Under consideration” since March before they were accepted this week. That just had me a little confused due to mine saying what you said which is “No decision made yet” under Decision.

Thanks,

Rachel
