Hey everyone!
I haven't seen a post for Fall 2021 yet so here it is!
My choices are:
1. UofT
2. McMaster
3. Nipissing SPP
I started my OUAC application in November and now trying to work on the supplemental packages. My CASPer Test is on January 12, 2021.
I need to take Anatomy and Physio course(s) however, I'm having a hard time figuring out what would satisfy the requirements from all three universities. My options so far are:
1. Take CBLG 101 in Winter and CBLG 111 in Spring at Ryerson. However final grade will be in June; hoping that's fine. This satisfies all 3 unis
2. Take SCS 2159 in Winter from UofT which is enough for UofT and McMaster but not for Nipissing. I have to take an Anatomy course just for Nip.
I have a Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education from back home, been working as an RECE in Toronto the last 8 years, have a Diploma in Nonprofit Management at Ryerson. My cGPA is 3.55 which I'm worried about. Lots of extra curricular activities from university and volunteering here in Toronto. I still have to compute the GPA for the last two years.
I requested WES to send my transcripts to Nip and McMaster and asked my old uni to send to UofT.
It's been an expensive application so far; really hoping I get in! Looking forward to chatting with you all and sharing our experiences.

Hey! I believe the last Friday of May is the last day and then waitlists begin in June (someone please correct me if I’m wrong).

My cGPA is super low at 3.0 but I feel really good about my CASPer. I have a life sci degree but honestly I don’t know what to do with it. If I apply next cycle, what can I do in the meantime to boost my GPA? Would continuing education courses count or should I take an easier program to get into? Or just start finding some entry level work? Any advice would be appreciated honestly
I applied to Mac and Humber and my decisions are both still pending.
Same ! Anxiety has kicked in already for me . It’s so hard to wait now .
Who else is waiting on all of their options?♀️
This is a slow waiting game and I'm definitely feeling the worry set in! I just want to say that to each and every one of us waiting to hear back from somewhere, you're not alone and I'm here for you. Grades don't define you and academic success isn't what shapes you as a person. No matter what happens or where you end up in the near future, your individual value is determined by your choices and actions and never how a school limits you.
There is still so much time left in this admission pool for most of the schools and I have faith in all of us! My DMs are open if you ever want to chat ?

Nipissing was my first choice until I found out that 12/15 credits wouldn't be given a letter grade only pass or fail. Graduate programs that you may apply to down the line want to see letter grades/GPA over that time period. So that, plus the unconventional classes offered means that you may be looked at less favorably or may even have to take additional courses if you want to apply to schools later on.
Here is a reddit post highlighting some of the pros and cons of the program (unofficial btw).

Hey. Coming from someone who applied last year, waitlisted, dragged on all Summer (anxiety was HIGH ALL TIME) and my worst fear of being rejected came true. With my experience, Western waitlist you early June, then all the rejections for waitlisters are sent out end of August. I believe everyone who got above 80 avg last year got in even the last week before class. I got into nipissing this year. Life sucks sometime, but either way life has to go on. Here are some advice: Find work or even entry level work. Apply to jobs now, don't wait around because finding a job during a pandemic is already hard. You want to have something lined up, rather than scrambling end of Summer. This gives you something you to do while you apply again, MONEY (to travel, save up for tuition, etc), and work experience. Who knows, you might end up loving that job. At the same time, take random bird courses at whatever university you are comfortable with to boost up your GPA because to schools, you are just a number. Also, take the time to improve your fitness, read, or whatever you always wanted to do because you were "too busy".

Thank for this. Just wondering, did you take any courses to boost your average? I feel like my two year avg may be the reason I don't get accepted. My last year average is good and good ECs as well, which is why I am praying for UofT to come through, but wanted to know just in case.
