Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2020

Hey, I used to creep these forums for the past few years and they helped affirm my decision to apply to nursing school for Fall 2020. I didn't see one started for next year so I thought, why not start one?

I graduated a while back so I'm a bit older, but my top three choices are:

1. Queen's

2. McMaster

3. York

4. Humber-UNB

on the same boat! got waitlisted too. not sure if we get pulled off waitlist in the order we're in or according to GPA

Hey guys, does anybody know how UofT calculates their GPA? If your latest credits are also prerequisite courses do they include that in the 5 full course equivalents, or will they go straight to your final year of your undergrad and not include any prerequisites within the GPA? Thanks in advance ?

Hi! From my knowledge, they calculate your GPA from your last 5 FCEs. They look at the prerequisites to make sure you meet the minimum (60%), but that is not included in their calculation unless they are part of your last 5 FCEs. Keep in mind that while the last 5 FCEs do count the most, they look at your transcript in it’s entirety. ?

@JT123456 they will include your prerequisite if it falls under your last 5.0 (or more, depending how many semesters are being added retrospectively, to fill up 5.0). While I agree that they look at the transcripts for its entirety - I don’t think it’s in GPA-context (otherwise I couldn’t have made it, there’s no way LOL). I think its more so of if the applicant was taking senior courses v.s. 100,200 level/all science vs variety/increasing GPA trajectory that reflects academic potential (in case they messed up significantly in first two years) etc. When I asked the admission officer, she said that GPA is strictly from last 5.0 but they look at the transcript for non-GPA purpose as well.

Yes there is! The name of the group is "Trent University-Compressed Nursing 2020-2022"
