Ontario Second Entry Nursing Fall 2020

Updated:   Published

Hey, I used to creep these forums for the past few years and they helped affirm my decision to apply to nursing school for Fall 2020. I didn't see one started for next year so I thought, why not start one?

I graduated a while back so I'm a bit older, but my top three choices are:

1. Queen's

2. McMaster

3. York

4. Humber-UNB

Any U of T acceptances today?

I got accepted into York U and Humber! Anyone has opinions on which is better? I am located pretty much in-between the two campuses.

Ooouuu CONGRATS! I'm going to York. Hopefully, I'll see you. I chose York for personal reasons and I just have a connection with the school (LOL). And to be honest, it doesn't matter what school you attend, at the end of the day we all get the same degree and opportunities. The only thing that may differ, is our experience in school/courses. Again, CONGRATS!

Hello,

Does anyone know what time U of T sends out their acceptances? Also, what does it say on the application portal if you are accepted?

Thanks!

Hi, I got my acceptance somewhere between 4-4:30! And the status on your application will change from "Application Received" to "Admitted"

Best of luck!

Congratulations!! ? If you’re a type of person who likes to lay out the pros and cons when making decisions then I suggest doing that. I decided on sticking with Humber in the end, and like @Nurse_AllDat2b said we get the same degree in the end just different experiences. I did my undergrad at York and enjoyed it but I wanted a change so that’s one of my reasons for accepting Humber’s offer. ?

Thank you for your response, it is the same degree at both places, but different experiences! I will make up my mind ASAP to allow someone off the waitlist for either of these programs. And CONGRATS to you too!

Thanks for the advice! I will think it over this weekend and make my final decision by Monday to allow someone else a chance to either of the programs. It is all up to me in the end, I hope you have a wonderful day!

Hi guys! I got an acceptance from Trent compressed today and I will be accepting! My average was an 82% and I was an internal applicant. For those of you still waiting don't give up! I've applied to nursing programs four times from high school until now and it finally paid off. Best of luck to you all.

Hi guys, did anyone get off Humber waitlist yet? someone mentioned that she declined Humber offer last week. Wondering if anyone got the spot.

I just got accepted to UofT!

Hi there, thanks for the response!

When did you do your fast processing request? Because I'm looking online and TPS mentions that they've actually suspended their fast processing since the middle of March due to COVID-19. At the moment, they're only allowing you to mail in your Vulnerable Sector Check forms, no in-person dropping off is being allowed. You also can't make a Vulnerable Sector Check request online for some reason. It must be mailed in.

I'm reallyyyyy hoping it doesn't take 10 weeks to process the request. On the TPS website, it actually mentions that they're currently processing VSC requests from June 1st (today is June 4th). So maybe the process won't take long after all??

Hi! I did it early march. I think it makes more sense if they don't want anybody to come into the police station. Perhaps you can follow up your order to make sure that they received your request and process them as “fast track “

Hey, Do you by chance have any links to these online courses? I've been trying to find an online BLS course with no luck ?

Thank you ?

Hi! you need to make sure the university will take online certification. As for the place, try redcross, st john ambulance or
heart and stroke ca. I found the link for heat and stroke canada https://CPR.heartandstroke.ca/s/courses?language=en_US

hope this help..
