Hey, I used to creep these forums for the past few years and they helped affirm my decision to apply to nursing school for Fall 2020. I didn't see one started for next year so I thought, why not start one?
I graduated a while back so I'm a bit older, but my top three choices are:
1. Queen's
2. McMaster
3. York
4. Humber-UNB

I may try and do that! ?

I got the email too, saying that the last day we will hear back from is august 1st. I know I'm getting my hopes up but I'm really hoping that the change of status may mean we are getting off of the waitlist and we get an offer? I'm not 100% sure, are you going to email them to ask?
Hi all! For those of you that accepted your UofT offer, is anyone wondering about what's going to happen in the fall? I feel like nursing isn't really the sort of program that's conducive to online learning, and if placements are cancelled or postponed I feel like it's only natural that they should expect people to ask to defer. I'm worried about missing a semester of valuable hands on learning since the program is already on a compressed time frame.
Does anyone think they'll be more lenient and understanding if people ask to defer their offer? I'm really excited to start the program but I'd be OK with deferring until next year if it means I'm getting a more meaningful education.

As much as I don’t want this to happen - looking at what happened today at Trinity Bellwoods... I don’t know. Sigh.
but remember, it’s not just uoft that’s not going to have/will postpone placements. If its the case, it will probably be the same for ALL healthcare related programs. So at least it’s not just missing out. It’s ALL of us missing out.
I think deferral will also have it’s consequences. I dunno how uoft will handle deferrals but it can have its pros and cons. Plus, uoft might not just simply accept deferral. On the COVID FAQ, it says it will be considered case by case. So it’s not even guaranteed.

If either of you hear anything please let me know! Queens is my dream and I'm dying for any updates

Honestly, from what I hear from nurses that graduated from accelerated nursing programs, is that the majority of the most valuable learning is actually going to happen when you graduate and actually start working for real. Also, I think for Mac, you don't start clinicals until January anyway in the normal curriculum, so if fall is online that doesn't change too much. Not sure about U of T though!
